i've always wondered if there really is such thing as a paradise and a hope for eternal life would we be limited to interacting with only one person?
the point could be argued from several perspectives.
several scriptures would suggest that a man and woman once joined in marriage are to be tied only to each other indefinitely.
After my divorce/DF I had a real short attention span with men, until I meant my current..He is doing a real fine job of keeping my attention and I have no interest in ever being with anyone else...But I agree you must be with the right person to feel that way.
sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need some silliness to.
break up the day.
here is your dose... follow the instructions to find.
Great! I'm Zippy ChickenShorts..

but on these corns too long you've tread.
I SEE the tall church steeples,
They reach so far, so far,
But the eyes of my heart see the world's great mart,
Where the starving people are.
I hear the church bells ringing
Their chimes on the morning air;
But my soul's sad ear is hurt to hear
The poor man's cry of despair.
Thicker and thicker the churches,
Nearer and nearer the sky--
But alack for their creeds while the poor man's needs
Grow deeper as years roll by.

if you were a good little 'raised in the truth' jw then the answer should be 'yes'.. so let's here from you.. [stands up] my name is montag and i was a 22 year old virgin on my wedding night.. .

Yes, I was and I locked myself in the bathroom for 45 minutes when I got to the hotel. I was scared to death.... I had done the whole chaperoned dating thing.
lets be fank (o'er i,ve got to do something about my spelling .frank obviously)with ourselves here , especialy if you were brought up a witness.how much of what you consider to be you , your personnality your way of thinking, is a result of being a witness?.
if you were brought up as a witness all you earlly years were exclusivly based on watchtower thinking .your parent taught you as instructed.. ok we went to school and learnt a lot of new things and met many different people, this will have effected us.. but many left school to again be only amongst other witnesses.. when you reason have an emotion or feeling about something do you wonder if that is really the way you feel?.
or has it been programmed into me?.
Sleepy,
I was brought up a witness and I think most of my personality is the result of being raised a JW. I have come a long way, but I still catch myself worrying about what other people think or how things appear. I wish it wasn't so, some of my Non-JW friends don't give a rip what someone else thinks... I tend to walk the straight and narrow even now; it is who I am. Sometimes, if I go out and party it up, my conscience bothers me, like I did something bad.
Guilt is another piece of baggage that came with me (I wish I could ditch it too). If I ever so speak my mind about something, I usually follow it up with an apology (hoping not to have offended). That could come from being not only raised a JW but raised in a very southern-JW household. Growing up in the south, we made an art out of being polite before all else, so that was a double wammy...
i personally recommend listerine essential care tartar control formula, it is clinically proven to prevent and reduced plaque, gingivitis, and bad breathe.
and the minty taste is very nice.
Arm & Hammer Baking Soda toothpaste WITHOUT peroxide only! (otherwise it is all fizzy)
hi everyone, i too have been lurking for a few weeks and thought it was time i made myself known.
i am not a jw but i am married to a man who is from a multi-generational family of jw's (although he has not been to meetings since he was old enough to object).
although i have never had any direct involvement with the organisation itself, i find my life is constantly infulenced by these people who judge, shun and avoid my husband and i (i guess they don't want to mix with "worldy people" such as us).
Hi Judith,
Welcome! Thank you for sharing your story with everyone. It is really interesting to hear a non-witness give thier viewpoint...If JW's only realized what they looked liked!! I think you will enjoy this board!

i'm a music junkie, i like pretty much all types of music.
but in particular i would have to say jazz is my favorite, but not the watered down kenny g style of jazz.
i prefer the straight ahead, hard bop type of jazz.. lately i've been really getting into psychedelia rock.
Out of character but.. HUGE Metallica Fan, Godsmack, OLD Black Sabbath, Old AC/DC, Rage is also great...
It doesn't fit with the rest, but I like No Doubt as well
