any "new light"?.
Just thinking about the line of argument used in that talk...
If it's a good thing to "keep on the watch" by thinking Armageddon may happen by a certain date, then is it possible for anyone to be guilty of false prophecying for that? If so, how?
The undercurrent I get from that talk is that because JWs declare Jehovah's name and the truth on other issues (that's another subject to be sure!), then they can't be false prophets.

Pretty much the same old "some Witnesses were expecting...." without admitting that the WT Society had started the whole thing and got all the JWs excited about such years as 1925 and 1975. Also, those that did expect these things in those years were actually doing a good thing because they were thus keeping on the watch.

friday last talk "sing to jehovah" - new songbook with 135 songs, 42 which are new.
will start using in january 2010. cong will begin receiving them after september 1st.
I'd agree. It's something to hear harmonized singing. Maybe JWs will start having choirs?

I found one other lecture from Fred Franz in 1972 where he refers to the WT chronology as being "almost smack up" against 6,000 years, meaning that the Millennium was very close:
