I'd like to say that the mindset has left me entirely... that i live my life without ever thinking of what the elders might think... the problem is, i actually act in a way that would make them mad, just to spite the entire organization... so i guess the mindset never will fully leave me... in the sense that it comes back to me to remind how i should act, the way that makes me feel good :) the infamous one

please tell me this question is a f*ing joke....... please............ ain't no one in the world, your fictitious "god" included, that can tell you who to love... the fact that you even feel the need to ask this question is abhorrent and extremely insulting to a person like me.... who the f* cares what the persons skin colour is... what a dumb f*ing bull S**** question... the fact you even feel the need to ask it, is just another reason why i think the bible should be burned... grrrr the infamous one

Can the holy spirit be a person???
by leaving-jws inmy mom and i got into a debate about the trinity doctrine.
she claims that the holy spirit cannot be a person which invalidates the trinity doctrine.
she says in genesis that the holy spirit was depicted as "roving about the earth" as an "active force".

To me, this is similar to arguing whether Santa Claus has real bells or electronic ones on his sleigh.
i second that emotion.....

Judgemental, hypocritical bit*h!
by Lady Zombie ina friend of mine owns a small ceramics and gift shop.
i guess a year or so ago, she bought up a ridiculous amount of small plushy toys, like beanie babies, webkinz, etc.. she had about 30 of them she had forgot about in a storeroom.
she thought of putting them on the shelves but decided just to write them off.

lol, hypocrites make me laugh...............
i say this, first mistake, thinking you will ever get a sincere response from a dub... second mistake, going to a meeting. third mistake, thinking of a witless as a human being that will accept your help and not try to hold something over you later

ps. good on you for being a good person though :)

Does Someone Have to be Religious to Be a Good Person?
by flipper inthis is something my wife and i were discussing the other day .
in a general view of religious people - most religious people feel it makes them holier, better, or on a higher moral plane claiming to worship god in an organized religion.
in the jehovah's witnesses view - the outside world is evil, and they claim that if you get away from their religion , and " fall away" a person is doomed to go astray, doing various sundry things like murder, adultery, stealing, orgies, because " they claim " that they have fallen " out of " god's favor.

it is obvious that without religion you are undoubtedly a terrible, horrible, sadistic, monstrous, hedonistic bastard.... that is all
no but seriously, this is a funny topic, i serve in a restaurant, and i was joking with some older ladies the other day about dining and dashing... the one lady says, we go to church, so we would never do that.... i said ok, and thought to myself, does church, or religion always make you a good person? i mean hitler was a catholic, so was mussolini... they were monsters... they were religious... so i think the answer is no, religion does not make you a good person....
i think the only thing that can make you a good person is a sincere attempt to understand those around you and their reasons for their actions... a good temperament, and really an effort to be good... and the next question is this; who defines good? ill leave the debate on that question to all of you

Guilt!
by megs ini feel bad for my jw friend, i had been going to meetings, then he said he didn't feel comfortable e-mailing to me anymore... i stopped going to meetings and e-mailed him to tell him why... i'm sure he thinks he's lost a potential convert and now i'm just gonna die instead of living forever and the guilt made him "confess" that he's been communicating with a "worldy" woman who he didn't intend to marry...
arghhh!!!
what is with this whole guilt thing?!

theinfamousone
yes, he most probably will have to do some sort of penanace... no witnessing for three days, no signing while the rest of the brainwashed sing, and most horrifying of all; he won't be able to stand in front of the vacant eyes of all his co-brainwash(ees) and read the bible to them... oh no what will he do with himself now??? :S

Does Someone's Religion Matter To You?
by minimus indo you care if tom cruise is a scientologist?
or that mitt romney is a mormon?
or that a person is either a very devout muslim or a card carrying communist?
-
theinfamousone
in my day to day life... no i dont give a hoot... i meet someone who is devout, good for them i think... now when they start to condemn me for my agnosticism, or possible atheism, well then thats where i start to care... but most dont... some of the most intelligent people i know are very religious.. and hey are great people to debate with... i think religion is fascinating, and it teaches you alot about a person....so no, i dont care....
