Anyone read tarot cards?
by manicmama ini was recently given a deck, and since i am no longer a jdub, i know i will not be cursed to eternal damnation and possessed by the demons, i thought it might be fun to give it a go.
i have always been quite intuitive and thought this might be a good tool to help me develop it a bit more.
any advice from those that use or any good books to consult?

Threw out my first set of Magazines!
by Nosferatu ini had to take my wife to the hospital today for a blood test.
as i was waiting for her in the waiting room, i spotted a set of magazines that looked familiar.
it was the watchtower and awake in french.

By the way...how do you quote another post? Or maintain spacing between paragraphs in here? Sorry about that last 'huge chunk-o-words'.

Happy Dad...nope. I don't really know anyone in here...yet. I just stumbled on this place about a week ago. I'm just a little surprised at all of the 'organization bashing' that seems to go on in here. It seems that none of you have really escaped the 'truth' (heh...), and still let it influence your lives and behavior. I mean, I know it all sucks...I haven't seen my family in years (I've been DF'd for about 10 years now, and haven't heard a word from uncles and aunts, grandparents...ect.). My brother brother hates me, and doesn't speak to me (he was nine when I was kicked out of the house, and my best friend in the world at the time). My little cousin died (someone I saw every year and made solo trips in my teens to vist) and no one told me until a week after the funeral. I wasn't invited to my granfather's funeral...I never saw either of them again. There have been times where I've felt painfully alone in this world. I have trouble understanding my boyfriend's close relationship with his parents which causes nothing but strife between us. And the list can go on... But I'm luckier than some in this world...and I'm not about to make my lot in life worse by railing against the forces that took so much from me. What end does that serve? What does that do for me? It's like racists or homophobes who spend so much time hating thier target group, that they become more wrapped up in it than people who are actually of that group. Why? Why hate something so much? Spend that energy on yourself and improving your lot. Just my perspective.

Why would you do this? It's one thing to want no part of it all...but another entirely to actively oppose thier work. I don't quite see the point.

What Pushed You Out The Door Of The Watchtower?
by minimus infor me, it was realizing that nearly every prophecy or commentary on a scriptural passage has changed.
througout the years, it's been new light, old light and even blinking light.

I'm gay...and I didn't feel that I was a bad person. I decided I had to choose between lying constantly (a sin, and a situation I hated being in) or living my life as I wanted to (also, a sin). I picked the one that involved the least personal compramise.

So....it's not a new thing? It's just a misunderstanding on the part of the reporter?

I was just reading that....and I noticed the bit where it states: "Voting, once prohibited, is now optional.' What's the deal with that? Is that true?

Uh...hi...
by klinton ini was looking around the internet, trying to locate an image of god's chariot to show someone, and i found this little place here.
it's...interesting.
as far as i can tell from poking around there seems to be a mix of the faithful, the inactive, and the disfellowshiped (like myself).

Does anyone find reading in here dpressing?
by klinton insorry to be a downer...but i'm just new here.
i've been scanning topics and reading people's various stories....and i have to say, a lot of what i'm seeing is just eating me up.
i've actually teared up a few times.

Totally...I've moved past a lot of what I'm seeing. It's more of an empathetic pain I'm talking about. You just wish you could transfer the peace of mind you've found to some of these people.

Minimus Is Demonized
by minimus ini posted this on a different thread regarding my mother but her sister (my aunt) told her that because i left the "truth" and am living my life outside of bible principles, that the "demons" are affecting her.
she told my mom that twice last week, "the demons pushed her" and caused her to fall.
because my mother associates with me and my mom associates with her sister----therefore the "contact" is made thru my mother to her.

Yeah....My mother has told me on numerous times that I'm posessed. She attributes the problems between my father and I to the 'demonic influences' I brought into the house growing up. It of course has nothing to do with his abbusive nature, or his temper. It must have been my comic books.
