  how many people around here maintain a blog?.

  i've been hosting a site for about 2 years, with a 'proper' wordpress blog for about half of that time, but no one really seems to know it exists, and i only get about one hit per day (apart from a few search engine crawlers and the odd hacking attempt).

  i initially set it up chiefly as an academic exercise to learn a little about php and sql servers.. unfortunately my life hasn't been incredibly remarkable (or rather, the remarkable things have not been things i've wanted the world at large to know about), so i haven't had a great deal of feedback (apart from the 607 article posted there), though i've put a few posts on my recent holiday on there.. if you want to have a look, or you're just feeling particularly bored, it's here.

  Great points....also have to admit that as a teenager, I used to sneak up to that particular book and read parts of it during meeting. lol

  Me too, it was kinda like the softcore porn of dubdom. Usually waaaaaay more interesting than what was actually being discussed.

  Wifely Submission?!

  okay, what i want to know is honestly how many of you guys out there were actually attracted to the jw's because of the wifely submission thing?

  and girls, how many of you actually had issues with the submission thing even when in the org.

  not attracted to submissive, quiet girls - all the women in my life are pretty strongwilled and (thank Allah) can think for themselves

  Couldn't have said it better myself! Much of the reason I was so attracted to my wife was the fact that she is so independent. I've never been attracted to the submissive types.

  if you could sum up your time in the borg with just one word, what would it be and why?.

  for me it would be guilt.

  guilt about not doing enough ministry, not enough study,doing too much secular work, the list seems endless.on the odd occasions i felt i'd done quite well you can bet we'd have a talk saying more,more more!.

  What view did you have of apostates when you were a JW?

  i can remember being an attendant at one of the circuit assemblies in nottingham, where a group of pentecostals were picketing out by one of the gates.

  i was intrigued for a short while, until a guy in a motorised wheelchair type thing, tried to get into the assembly by ramming himself into us.

  i could of quite happily baptised him in the trent !!

  My only personal experience with "apostates" was when I was 12 and went to Brooklyn for the tour and what not. Does anyone else remember a Mr Coffee (I think that was his name, not the coffee maker) who used to stand out in front of the headquarters and yell about how f'd up and wrong the borg was? I remember my dad herding us around him like he had a plague and was contageous.

  Having a hard time tonight

  it's been 2 months since i was df'd and 4 months since i've talked to anyone in my family.

  for the most part i'm doing real well but every now and then it catches up with me.

  ran into my dad today and when i tried to say hi he could only ignore me.. i think the pain and hurt i feel now is more for him, he's in his own world of misery and doesn't even know it.. anyway, i'm a little drunk and depressed and just felt like getting it off my chest.. hope this doesn't bring anyone else down.. namaste'
