Happy Friday 13th! Are you superstitious about anything?

a friend kindly pointed out it was friday 13th!!!

now i am not normally superstitious about anything, but i try and avoid going out on a full moon and am not overly keen on friday 13th.

i know its irrational but hey - i'm female (sorry that was a bad joke)!.

rather than hijack another thread and inspired by fullofdoubtnow and dedpoets music for the wedding thread i thought i would start a little "dedications" thread - this isn't the sort of dedication symbolised by dunking though!.

(i expect to see ggbg and ofg here forthwith for some romantic dedications).. i'd like to dedicate the following to someone special - "bodies - by drowning pool" .

they probably wont see this, but the thought that counts!.

Altering reality where do you stand......

to fill you in and explain my post....... i was raised as a jw but left (not baptised) at 16. i started studying again at 24ish and was quickly baptised and got disfellowshipped aged about 32ish.

whilst i was active as a jw i socialised plenty, but it did not involve copious amounts of drink or drugs.

during my times out i have very very occasionally smoked a little dope and have been drunk more often but by no means frequently.

In my 20's when I was fresh out of the dubs and rethinking my stance on all things i experimented a bit with various substances. Alot of it can be attributed to escapism, particularly alcohol. Due to my experiences with alcohol and pot and my propensity to enjoy them both heavily, I made the decision not to get involved with substances such as meth, coke or heroin. This has served me well, and during that time with my exposure to drug culture I watched many people's lives spiral into a deep abyss of addiction. My personal experiences have been much less dramatic and I regret none of them. In particular LSD was an experience that I will never forget but that's a whole new topic unto itself.

Now I drink socially but rarely to the point of intoxication. Due to location I am surrounded by some of the finest beers in the world and truly enjoy them for their flavor and character. I still enjoy the occasional bit of pot but have come to value mental clarity more.

None of these mend altering substances have matched the numbness and detachment I felt growing up in the org.

Santa - Satan

i remember several dubs getting all into the satan being santa thing (yes adults too) mixing around the letters to make satan from santas name.. ever see this?.
