Happy Friday 13th! Are you superstitious about anything?

A friend kindly pointed out it was Friday 13th!!! Now I am not normally superstitious about anything, but I try and avoid going out on a full moon and am not overly keen on Friday 13th. I know its irrational but hey - I'm female (sorry that was a bad joke)!

The reason being an inordinate number of bad things seem to happen to me if I leave the house on those days. This could just be me looking for more excuses to indulge my agoraphobic tendencies or it could simply be if you expect bad stuff to happen then it will...

Anyone else or do you stick two fingers up at primitive superstitions? Or could there be any truth in a scientific way that the full moon at least alters the environment or our own bodies, like the ocean, in a way that can cause mini disasters?

Its nearly 7 am so far nothing bad has happened....

Not I. I wish though, it would make life more 'interesting' I guess.

There is no such thing as eternal life and it certainly isnt earnt by living a life now deprived, inactively comtemplating the future! ;-)

okay its 8am - I think I will go into work early, possibly missing a terrible accident on the train or road that might happen if I took my usual route...

I don't put much stock into such things.

Though...back in the mid 80's my father was airlifted to the hospital with an aortic aneurism on Friday the 13th. He lqater died of cancer February Friday the 13th, 2004.

I am still not superstitious but I just simply don't like the day.

Crumpet, i don't worry about Friday the 13th, but definitely believe the full moon has an affect.

I can be clinically classed as a "lunatic". I usually sleep like a log, but one night a month a can not sleep. It always turns out to be the night before the full moon. I guess my body is sensitive the the extra gravitational pull.

I've pitched a ring of crosses in my yard, covered all the mirrors in my house, tranquilized my black cat so he won't be hopping across anything or anyone, and I'm sitting in front of my PC now patting this huge rabbit's foot dangling from my neck.

Friday the 13th? bleh... doesn't trouble me at all.

Some of the roof got blown off our factory today, but I put that down to the weather.

The booze squad had a road block a few metres from my street tonight, but I was still in my favorite drinking establishment at the time and they had gone by the time I drove home.

The power went off at smoko time this afternoon. So we had an extra-long break and swept the floor and cleaned up the factory for the first time since xmas.

Friday 13 was pretty good, except that the weather has changed from summer to winter overnight and I have had to light the fire for the first time this year.

    Cheers

    Chris
