  Web page translations?

  does anyone know how to get a web page translated into english?

  i went altavista and did a serch for "silentlambs" to see if i could find any news storys.

  i found many in other countries...but i cant read them!

  my personal hell has started since i told my wife i was stepping down and why i was doing so.

  she has barely said 2 sentences to me in the last 24 hours, but i can understand her being upset so i'm trying my best to remain patient.. yesterday afternoon i told my cousin who is also one of my closest friends about my decision.

  we ended up talking about it for more than 4 hours.

  i'm also excited by the prospect of meeting bill bowen and barb on friday at the courthouse.

  I'm not sure if it would be aired on NBC Europe as well as your NBC

  ,if not,when dateline is aired would love a copy of the video over here,it would be fine NTSC format as can easily get it copied for UK PAL,and I would pay postal costs etc.

  Trading Standards

  this thought just crossed my mind.. if the watchtower society was a product and not a religion they would be prosecuted by the advertizing standards authority for misleading advertizing,and the trading standards authority for not supplying the promised product.. .

  it seems that we have more rights when we buy a vacume cleaner or groceries than when we buy into a religion that can control our whole lives resources.

  this is over a 1000 down over last month, which mirrors other years.. nothing much to report in this month's kingdom ministry, just the usual crap of study more, preach more and attend all the meetings; oh, and give us more money.. dmouse .

  I remember hearing a talk about how when Joshua and his men marched around Jerico,on the last day they marched around seven times illustrating how there would be an intensifying of the preaching right at the end.
  
  I know that Feb is the shortest month but those averages are so down to when I left in 1996,the average publisher hours were then about 10 or 11,the average pioneer hours were around 90 and auxilery pioneer hours 60,have they reduced the Aux/pioneer requirement I wonder?

  Anyway it seems by these figures that apathy is well and truly begining to set in.

  below is a link to a site by who i believe to be along time jw and an article he has written basically justifying the watchtowers stance on the pedophile issue.

  the gist of it i got was that since there is so much more of it in other religions, it isn't all that bad within the jws.

  When I was a witness we were constantly reminded How clean and pure Jehovah's true organization was compared to the low standards of the world, scriptures were quoted like a little leaven ferments the whole lump' Jehovah's organiszation was a spiritual Paradise of purityso completely different from the world.

  Now it seems that a little leaven is acceptable provided it is less leaven than what the other religions have.

  I know one witness who still speaks to me that has read both Ray Franze's books and knows the flawed concepts and ideology of the Watchtower but has chosen to remain a witness, his explanation is that the witnesses have got a lot of things wrong but in percentage terms the Church's has got more wrong still, so in his eyes it all seems to be about percentage graphs.

  So true.
  I know of cases of several elders who sit on harsh judgement on others with those being interrogated suffering emotional hell when the JC members have their own vice and past seedy exploits ,and get it brushed under the carpet.

  On "The Generation" from 20-year-old ...

  i recently got hold of the book the catholic answer to the jehovah's witnesses (louise d'angelo, maryheart catholic information center, meriden, connecticut, 1981).

  it's a pretty critique of the jws in many parts, especially on the topic of "jws and false predictions".

  with regard to "the generation of 1914" it said:.

  what effect has having a whole section of your life proved to be a falsehood had on you?.

  anybody that has been a witness will understand the time, effort, comitment and money that it took to be a member.

  the way it dominated our lives, affected every decision we made and shaped our future.. some have left and turned to other faiths and some (like myself) have lost all religious faith (and i make no appology for that).

  Personally,I am a lot more cynical in general and cautious about bragging claims and boastful people in general.
