The peace racket
by John Doe ina growing movement is pushing a worldview that ignores history's lessons about strength and appeasement.. by bruce bawer.
september 2, 2007.
'if you want peace, prepare for war," counseled the roman general flavius vegetius renatus more than 1,600 years ago, echoing the sage advice given nine centuries earlier by the chinese military strategist sun tzu.

That depends on how much you agree with that article you posted. If you agree totally, then my sights are right on target. I'd lke to reccommend to you a book called Addicted to War, and a film called Why we Fight.
Assuming you agree with that article; I'd say that the ideas that that article espouses are "old world" and "old paradigm." It is exactly the philosophy that progressives are fighting to obliterate. This "war apologetics" is public enemy #1. It is the single most important job we have today - overcoming the rhetoric of war. nothing is more important than that.
this means that you are the biggest problem in the whole world, you and your like minded fellows. How does that feel? In modern educated society, we have established ways to deal with people without armed response. We are capable of having world peace instantly, right now if we all want it. But, people like you who believe in the power of the bullet and the bomb, take us back to caveman days when we clubbed each other over the head. Now a days we just have bigger clubs. But we also have words that can incite and words that unite. We need to choose the right words, and leave the old "threaten and intimidate philosophy" behind. You stand for the old, stagnation instead of change. you are so stuck in a world of percieved realities that you haven't learned how to imagine, what might be, or what is possible. -

John Doe,
It is people with your view that we need to get rid of. I believe violence should be perpetuated against all who believe like you. Then we would have peace, once your kind is exterminated. Come to my house sometime. I'd love to have you for dinner. The best defence is a good offence. I'll be having Machiavelian pie for desert. -

Dub w/soul patch?
by La Capra ini was at the gym this morning, pouring myself a cup of coffee and i noticed a sweaty man sitting at a table reading what looked like the small version of the maroon deluxe nwt (the one made out of pig leather that were all the rage in the early 90's before the "donation arrangement").
(for anyone who cares, he was in revelation.
) it also appeared that he had a colorful tract or magazine and the daily text book (are those spiral bound now?

Black brothers are allowed to have soul patches, white brothers no. At least that's how I heard it at Bethel. Even mustaches are discouraged for white brothers but black and hispanic witnesses may have them without sanction.

I invited him to come inside the coffee shop where I am working (on a book about JWs) and he came in saying he had to make it back to the convention center for his assembly, but he was very leary. He came in and I invited him to sit down but he woudn't. He said he couldn't answer any questions because he was disfellowshipped. That never stopped me from talking to people about the truth. Is there anybody out there who actually declined to preach because they were disfellowshipped? I found this ridiculous and very indicative once again on what pussies JWs are these days. I mean, I was like a freakin' suicide bomber compared to the timid shaking rats they have out there preaching these days. My God, what are they doing to those poor people that they are so afraid to talk with people? They just want to leave a mag and run like hell before any real exchange of ideas can take place. They just shrug and walk away any time I try to talk to them. They are seriously ill with pathological avoidance! I don't get it. Were any of you out there such pussies when you were in the False? I'd love to hear how different ones treated people in the field who wanted to debate or argue. I was always up for it myself.

Welcome to the board!! Here's a newsflash for you, Ready? You were raised in a CULT. What you describe in your post are very typical circumstances of cult and ex-cult members. Your story is not unique but rather common. Just read some of the life stories in this forum. Your parents are cult members. Why expect them to act like anything but cult members? Also, recognize that you are an ex-cult member, and like any addict, you need professional help. Personally, I wouldn't live without my therapist. A good therapist can provide a haven from all the madness in your life. So, do this for yourself. Stand in front of a full body mirror, and say, "I am looking at a cult survivor. This is what a cult survivor looks like, and what a cult survivor acts like. I need to work on being more like a normal person, but this will be hard. Why? Because I am an ex-cult member." Then, GO GET HELP. Do not try to heal yourself without help from a professional. Please. PLEASE. Don't go it alone, and don't expect even your therapist to understand ex-cult issues. Provide a copy of Combatting Cult Mind Control by Steven Hassan, after you have read it yourself. I also reccommend Releasing the Bonds of Cult Mind Control by Hassaan. Good luck, and keep coming back to this forum. It can be a life line.

Reinstatement questions
by RebelWife inwould somebody give me a detailed rundown of what occurs?
and what would i (the evil ubm) notice my husband doing that would give me a clue that he might be planning this?
i've looked at some old threads and see that there must be letters & meeting attendance.

Matbe your husband would enjoy some scrapbooking three nights a week rather than going to the meetings?
Seriously though, if your husband is thinking of getting reinstated, then seeing a thrapist is a good idea. He might be experiencing what is called "floating." This is when an ex-cult member, after having proven to himself that the cult is false, experiences periods of believing the cult is true again. I have experienced several bouts of floating since I left. Just look at my past posts, I have seriously considered getting reinstated several times but each time I go back I snap out of it and come to my senses again. Remember, they call it a cult for a reason. The indoctrination is so thorough that one's very identity is tied up with one's cult identity. Not easy to lose that kind of mind fucking. -
