the thread on the wt going into the red, and the remark on "cheap paperback bibles" made me think of the old green nwt.. there was a lot of buzz back then about why it was green.

i heard these from various cos -.

a) it was green to prove that it was not from christendom.

I do. I seem to remember them being in the early black bibles too, but I might be mistaken.

I wish I would have saved a few of the old green bibles that I used to have. I seem to recall that they had errors that the deluxe version did not.

have you ever lost any privilages due to being spiritually weak?

i wasn't going out in servive as much,not commenting and wasn't married to a witness.

i was taken off the ministry school talk # 2,couldn't pray for the congregation,was taken off the sound equipment,couldn't pass out literature,couldn't receive a blood card and finally couldn't receive any books because i wasn't considered part of the congregation.that was fine with me.. what were the signs you received from your congregation telling you that you were weak in the faith?.

my nissan sentra (2000) failed the smog test.

the "check engine" light has been on for a few months now.. i just had it checked out this morning and i was told i need to replace the air flow meter sensor.. the estimate was $400 for a rebuilt-part and $600 for a brand new one.. does this sound right?

can somebody explain to me what this part's function is?.

Ok, the MAF sensor does measure the volume of incoming air and has nothing to do with O2 exhaust readings.

$400 sounds about right depeding on your car, but as mentioned check your local junk yards and autozone/checker stores to see how much you can save by just buying it yourself. It shouldnt take much more than a screwdriver to replace it and if you post a pic of your engine I might be able to point it out to you.

1.Do you believe in a personal God who takes interest in you as an individual? -- I belive that if the God of my youth actually did exist, he would be far to wrapped up in himself to take notice of me.. Unless I wasnt praising him enough and then he might scold me for not feeding his vanity.... So.. No I dont believe in any supreme being and I really would even hesitate to use "God" in the way that Einstein did in refering to the nature of the universe, as it brings with it what I consider to be a negative connotation.

2.Do you believe that the Bible was written by God? -- Nuh uh

3.Do you believe the Bible is error free and is always harmonious? -- (edited) No

4.Why do you believe these things? -- The short answer is.. In one of my many attempt to work my self into a zealous frenzy, I made the mistake of actually reading the bible, this book that I professed to base my life on. Much like most professed belivers I really hadnt made the attempt to read it cover to cover. When I did attempt it, I found that the bible simply couldnt be seriously dealt with. Sadly it didnt even take all the way through Genesis to come to this conclusion.

How they even let you near the stage with the facial pubes is beyond me, but you know that for years to come that incident will be discussed quietly when people talk about "strange things" that have happened at the hall.
