as someone has already said........"in the begining God created the heaven and earth"
should read............"in the beginning man created God"
.
someone i knew stood up at the convention to answer her two baptism questions both with a "yes".
she was having an affair with a married brother at the time.. but i'd top my 'biggest lie' list with four small words; "in the beginning, god"
as someone has already said........"in the begining God created the heaven and earth"

say something philosophical and deep so that we can all benefit from what you're going to say.
It takes a lot of courage to stand up to your enemies
but it takes more courage to stand up to your friends
i posted this in the middle of someone elses thread by mistake.
my mother and her friend were talking at da weekend and they reckon we are not only in the last days but the last hours.
i know most of you dont believe that anymore, but do some of you still get scared by it.
thank you for all your replies. i didn't know the jws said the world was going to end before. i will tell my mum this, maybe she does not know.
by the way i am a girl not a boy. someone called me 'son'.
my father goes to church. he thinks that all the christians are going to be taken off the earth when jesus returns and then everyone left over will be in a big war, will end up dead then go to hell.
one nutty family i have got.

i rented a house in the late !970's and the contents in the home were given to me.. it happened to be books: ( making my life happy, revelation, children bible stories, listening to the great teacher ) i was enjoying the reading.. -----------------------------------.
a few years later began to notice awake magazines in doctor offices, and other public places and read them and enjoyed them.. ------------------------------------.
late 1980's my 7th son was 2 yrs.
my post above went into the wrong place. how do i move it so it is a post on its own?

my mum and her friend were talking and said we weren't just in the last days but we were now in the last hours. i know most of you don't believe that but i get scared incase its true. does any one else get scared incase its true and do all jw believe we are in the last hours?
prayer topics seem to be the bandwagon of the moment so i'm jumping on!
seriously, has anyone here asked for something specific in prayer and actually gotten what they asked for?
what convinces you that you wouldn't have got it in any case?
i would think in most cases answered prayer is somethig that cant be proved. same as people who believe their stars and then when it happens think it must be true. or people that say they seen a ghost.
what i dont get about prayer, is most people say their prayers dont get answered, and some say they do. does God have favourites?
i have never had a prayer answered.
ok, its happened again!
but not to me this time, my 12 year old son.. last night he fell asleep on the couch, so i left him there and went to bed.
he wolk up about 3 am, and walked upstairs to his bedroom.
Hi , i havent read through all da posts but wanted to tell you what happened to ma bro.
up until he was about 12, if he fell asleep on da sofa, he would wake up and be talking and then a few mins later he would start screaming or pointing at imaginery things. it was really scary bec he looked awake and was talking to us all.
anyway mum took him to see someone and they said he was still asleep even though he looked awake, like part of his brain was still asleep, like in sleepwalking.
just thought i would mention it incase it was something similar with your boy.
i was thinking of an approximate reversal of force's thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/14/105552/1.ashx):.
if something happened which proved beyond any doubt that god (or gods) cannot exist, silencing forever all claims for realistic belief in an objective divinity, shattering even the uncertainty of agnosticism, would you start being interested in theology?.
i don't mean to discuss the probability of the assumption: it is very unlikely.
hiya
some people deny even facts. my great grandmother still doesnt believe man has been on da moon. she thinks it was a hoax.
.
hiya all.
i just wondered this becus i know lots of people have lost faith in god and the bible.. but if today something happened that proved 100 percent that god existed, would you go back to serving him?.
define serving.
What i meant was if God appeared and the whole world knew he existed, then he said 'well this is what i want you to do and how i want you to live.....' would you do it. my mum is jw and she serves him, or thinks she does but i dont think i could serve god without proof he was there
