God Joanna, go to freaking bed its freaking late and dark in Minnesota!
Yeah, I was a snobby MS for about a year.
my wife was speaking negatively about a sister, an elder's wife, because since i resigned as an elder, she does not give her the time of day.
she said to me that sister-------- is a "spiritual snob.
" i never heard this expression before.

Yeah, I was a snobby MS for about a year.
i was talking to my parents one day last week, and they were discussing somewhat, arrangements they've made for when they die.
even though i've known for many years now that armageddon isn't "right around the corner", it still came as a thunderbolt to hear them talk about when they die........not "if we die before the end of this system of things"........at this moment, i cannot conceive of my parents dying; largely because i was always told i wouldn't have to see them die, the new system will be here long before that happens.
now that i'm faced with the reality of having to lose them one day (they're both 71), i'm having an extremely hard time dealing with it and i cry every day.. is this a normal reaction for anyone to have?
Of course! Having freinds, close family members die is a sad experience and you should feel "normal" for having these feelings. In fact death in itself is sad, but it is something that we all must face. Knowing that however, helps us know better how to deal with life.
I think that witnesses who are still believing this lie are worse off because they mortgage this life in order to gain some other life that is supposed to be better, but is unfortunately a fairy tale. Better to know the truth and start living THIS life, the life that is real.
as a youngster raised in the "truth", i had my questions.
but anytime you ask a question that is unanswerable, you are told to just wait on jehovah.
as time passes, i believe that we store up a number of unanswerable questions that forces one to eventually think about everything.
Does anybody here know of a good site that presents a case by case argument against the witness doctrine? I'm looking for a good site for research.
Hippikon, the answer is 67
My momma always told me that stupid is as stupid does
us officials are signalling that a deal has been reached with france and russia to overcome their objections to a new resolution against iraq.
senior diplomats are discussing the latest resolution drafted by the united states at a closed-door meeting of the un security council.
iraq... will face serious consequences as a result of its continued violations of its obligations .
But Clinton went into Somalia and didn't support his troops enough for them to have any success there. Clinton went into the Balkans and got our military bogged down in that situation. He had real chances to go after terrorists after credible threats and sent in cruise missles which did nothing. He stripped our intelligence services so that they were not prepared for what happened on Sept 11 and he pretty much did not use that "big stick" that he had to keep the rest of the world from becoming the threat to the U.S. that it now is. When did Clinton ever get serious with Saddam when Saddam made him look rediculous by non compliance with the treaty he signed?
Do you understand fundamentalist Islam? You are on a witness board, so you should be familiar with the mindset, only they are "proactive" in killing the unbeliever unstead of leaving it "in god's hands". That is the evil we are fighting, the evil that keeps its own people in tyrrany and threatens the rest of western civilization.
i'm new to this forum and have been reading all these topics and posts and kind of getting to know some of you.
i've always purposely avoided anti-witness or ex-witness opinion before but i'm tired and am looking for an end to it all.
like it says, i am very much in love with a witness, and she is very much in love with me.
The key is that she has to have a reason to doubt and that has to reside within her, it must originate with her, its not something that you can make her have. If you replace the things that she gets from the witnesses with other things, that starts the process, she has to see the world and the things around her for what they really are, not perfect, but pretty much good. Its also good for her to have friends that aren't witnesses, because if she gets to know how "worldly" people really are, just normal people, then that tends to break down the logic that they are all deserving of death.
Good luck and prepare yourself for the possibility that nothing you can do will make her disbelieve and she may even push you away, take it from someone who has recent first hand experience.
over the years i have had several collections, ranging from louisiana bottles, (this collection was stolen); books relating to la.
which i donated to a library; books by or about jws, which i gave to another library; a stamp collection, which is at my sister's house.
my florida related stamps are now on exhibit at the state library of florida.
And macrame, right JC?
i voted for only one republican in this mid-term election.
i do think that governmental positions should be filled by a diverse group of well-qualified people.. .
but it is very dangerous to allow one party (republican in particular) to have a majority, as has happened in the senate.
Yeah, I think i'm getting out of the state next year, especially when a guy like Davis gets re-elected. I'm gonna miss San Diego, but I'm finding it hard to afford
do you know why so many people are leaving the "truth"?
it's because they all figured out that they really were going to die.
once a witness understands that millions now living will indeed die, they begin to regress from the witness spirituality.
Phase one, collect underpants, phase 3, profit. Phase 2 is the hard part.
