Well you could visit the new temple of Jah, the monument to Jah and of course, Jah-land, home of phineas-mouse and zechariah-duck and a really cool water ride.

Why did YOU want to live forever??
by Scully inwhat was it about living forever that appealed to you when you were a jw?.
was it the idea that you'd have all the time in the world to do whatever you wanted to do?
were you thinking about travelling the world and seeing it all transformed into a paradise?

Cheesy Question:
by Englishman inwhat's your favourite cheese, please?.
mine's gruyere, a swiss cheese that is absolutely scrummy.http://www.cheese.com/description.asp?name=gruyere.
of course, i still enjoy the noble stilton, danish blue and there ain't nothing to compare to a genuine parmesan with pasta.. but, gruyere takes some beating, i reckon.. englishman.

I must admit. I am not a cheese c onnoisseur. But I like american cheese on my homemade sandwich *shudder* or a hamburger, yum. If I go out for a sandwich I like provolone or swiss or smoked cheddar. Cheddar and crackers is good, but not as much as cheddar and apple slices (try it sometime). I'm making enchiladas tonight and will probably use monterey jack or colby jack cheese. And then there is the piece de resistance: mozzarella. Pizza, chicken parmesian (with mozzarella) manicotti etc... but that brings us into a whole slew of italian cheeses such as parmesian, romano, riccotta ... mmmm

What Was The 1st Thing That Made You Question?
by minimus inas a youngster raised in the "truth", i had my questions.
but anytime you ask a question that is unanswerable, you are told to just wait on jehovah.
as time passes, i believe that we store up a number of unanswerable questions that forces one to eventually think about everything.

The two things that got me to stop attending meetings was the lack of concern and genuine love for other people, even other witnesses. I saw people snubbed because they were irregular or were children who's parents were divorced or were dirt poor. There was an appaling lack of respect for life when something tragic happened in the news. This was before September 11 when I left, but even when that happened, the witnesses I knew were extatic and happy. That attitude made me sick.
The second thing was the mind control that I could see the organization had on its adherents. Witnesses seemed to blindly follow whatever they were told, rejoicing at a change in doctrine like the generation change as if it were a blessing from god. At one of the last meetings I attended a woman answered at the Watchtower study about how since you can't be sure about any "worldly" reading material its best just to not read any of it at all! There was a rise in the emphasis to "guard against" independent thinking or maybe I was just paying attention to this stuff more. It seemed illogical to me for God to want humans that he created with the ability to think independently and who have a natural inclination to do so, to actually go against that which is so fundamental to our individual freedom as humans. I decided that I could no longer be a part of such an organization. I was raised in it, I never really had the chance to decide for myself whether it was the truth, now that I was an adult I made that decision and left.

I was deathly afraid of, well, dying. I didn't ever want to die. But then it dawned on me that living that kind of life forever with those people would be pure hell in itself.
Really no one has any knowledge of what happens to us after we die, there could be some sort of afterlife and then again we could just cease to exist. So until then I'll enjoy the relatively short time I have on this Earth.

Do material things rule your life?
by haujobbz ini think i have to say i am obsessed with material things,i love having the latest music, games,tv,etc.
allthough there seems nothing wrong with this i do seem to worry about my belongings a lot, for instance i have dreams about people trying to steal my belongings, also i have fitted numerous locks on my doors to protect my belongings, its not that im a geek i have a kid a lovely wife but i think im to possesive over my material belongings.. its funny it sounds like a awake article question.
i think i will have a tomb built when i die to take it all with me.

Things are cool, but they are just things. They don't equate happiness, but I agree they do help.
