Do we trade one arrogant "I am right" for another "I am right" attitude?
by free2beme inwhen i was a witness, i was very arrogant in my life in thinking i was right in all things.
the right religion, the right bible, the right understanding and the right lifestyle.
when i left, it was not hard to shake this arrogance and i found at times i was the same person, only with a different "right" message and i annoyed my witness relatives as much as they annoying me.

DOCTORS RECEIVING EXTRA PERKS AT BETHEL

since the gb needs doctors (dentists, etc) they would offer them the best rooms even though they never pioneered.
one dentists in bethel was given a room that included a garage to park his car.

I agree. In Betheldom they do deserve more than anyone else...but since the Watchtower teaches we should be content with what is provided - then they should apply it at the place where they believe should be a pattern for all.
I was happy for what the doctors got. But it is a double standard in Watchtower.

Since the GB needs doctors (dentists, etc) they would offer them the best rooms even though they never pioneered. One dentists in Bethel was given a room that included a garage to park his car. One doctor was able to kick out 4 single brothers and had it remodeled to his specs.
Does anyone know if they (doctors) received a higher stipen? I would not be surprised if they didn't.

i would go the one in manchester (m.e.n arena) but 1) someone might recognize me and 2) can't get there.

Anyone Remember Dr. Jim Howard, Bethel Doctor in the 80s??

he was from a congregation near mine here in vermont, and i knew him long before he was invited to become the physician at bethel.
he had a lovely wife and a terrific young teenaged daughter at the time.

My parents and I were watching the news and low and behold ... my mom blurts out, "We are in the end huh?" No! Supposedly we have been in the end since 120 years ago. If you were told that back then would you say the end was close. She would not buy it. So she says, "since the end is near we cannot miss the meetings."
What in the world do meetings and the end being here have in common?
What happend to have faith in Jehovah and Jesus? Meetings are not going to save you. Jehovah and Jesus are. I think. I hope. I pray.

Good-bye, Sylvester

sylvester was only four months old when he and his brother scout moved in with me - a dog person - and my australian shephard.
the kittens were supposed to be pets for the 10-year-old.

Got to see the baby!

i got to see the baby beating the crap out of his/her mother today on the ultrasound screen!
the hospital is mean and doesn't want to tell us the sex of the baby, so we'll have to pick a gender-neutral name like "rocky" or something.. j/k :).
