no, i'm not looking for a job, but i need to know how much they pay.
i want accurate info for my speech.
When I was in I did not complain only because I always got handshakes from the "friends." The "friends" took me to the mall to shop for anything that I wanted. They would invite me to the movies and to eat anywhere they went. They would also pickme up to go the congreation and then drop me off. I can't say it well for most. I would definately suffer with only $110. It would dissapear on rides to the subway.
Once there was a talk at morning worship that we should depend on the friends to subsidize our literature expenses. WTF? So stupid me probably gave hundreds in contributions.
So, yes. bethel only pays $110 per month. I would not be surprised if this went up because of all the ones who have left and the expenses for gas have gone up.
ok, this is for fun.
how many are glad stealth is still here?
i vote yes.. how many vote lose the diaper?
i got accustomed to it already
here is yet another update on what is going on in my world.
the elder i talked to a while back just couldn't let it be and now want's to have another discussion.
he now wants to meet with with another elder from the hall.
if you don't want to be labeled an 'apostate' don't ask any questions!
just be agreeable. hell, don't even meet with them.
i am not sure how to handle this and don't want to do something rude, or stupid, or both.
i was seeing this guy (non-jw) for a few months.
his friends are absolutely fabulous.
Good girl. You seem to be considerate for others peoples feelings which is fantanstic.
There is nothing wrong with remaining friends with his friends but out of respect for feelings I would stay away from partys (god I almost said gatherings) knowing that he would be around.
As a GUY, I would never want to be in the room with my x-gf, for me it would be too painful. And also I would not want to befriend her friends because by being with them would remind me of her.
w-a-c "out of respect for other peoples feelings class"
have the courage to appear foolish, for the real fools are those who never attempt anything.
have the courage to make mistakes, for they can teach you like nothing else can.
have the courage to take action.
H ave the courage to appear foolish, for the real fools are those who never attempt anything. Have the courage to make mistakes, for they can teach you like nothing else can.
Have the courage to take action. For even though your actions carry the possibility of failure, if you never act then you are certain to fail.
Have the courage to live each day fully, with enthusiasm and a generous spirit. Though there are many problems in this world, there are a whole lot more positive possibilities.
Have the courage to do what is right instead of what is easiest or most convenient. It will earn you the respect of others and, even more importantly, the respect of yourself.
Have the courage to see and accept things for what they are. That will put you in position to make a real difference.
Have the courage to love, to speak your mind, to follow your curiosity and your passions. Have the courage to give of yourself, for the goodness you give will come back to you over and over again.

wow.. so, you know i'm an active witness, very active.
hah.
and i'm not laughing at y'all, but wow, i can't believe how extensive this is.
OK ... I finally got caught up with all 666 pages of posts. umm. 1st welcome Darcy, welcome smellsgood, welcome the other one. Am I missing anyone else?
We got to think what brought US here ... I believe we have put more stock into the WTBTS and did not receive any dividends. Darcy here seems like she has not placed a lot ot stock into the WTBTS.
Every congregation has it's own personality which is driven by the elders. I would like to know what type of elders she has ... by the sounds of it, they maybe ones who are on the fringes of departing the borg or maybe each one has a kid in college and do not "push" certain ideologies.
Usually your little kingdom hall is all you know about the WTBTS. That is where the Internet comes in and you see the ORGANIZATION as whole.
Well took the pill and left the matrix.
stick around "Trinity"
there is a discussion on the board new jwd members on the horizon!
that suggests many of those who were pushed out of wt headquarters will leave the wts and some may find their way here.. i hope that is what happens.. but i have a sinking feeling that the opposite might happen.
in leon festinger's book when prophesy fails he states:.

I wonder though, will many go back to their old home cong, will they be assigned "where the need is great". The younger ones might be more willing to go on the hunt for info and support. You fellows could be the start of an very interesting web presence all by yourselves.
I suspect the ones who have served a long time will find it the hardest when they re-enter a world they are unfamiliar with.
I knew of a dunce Bethelite who got sent back home without a responsibility, meaning he was not assigned as many think they all would be. As was said, the decision to "assign" will be based on personality, character, company man, never got in trouble, good reports from home overseer as in never left his room a mess, table head - as in he was always present, work overseer - as in if he did not voice differing opinions and if he was competent at his work.
I would say if they have been there less than 5 years they would just be sent home telling them to, listen to this as I almost fell for it, they tell you to PUT IN YOUR REGULAR PIONEER APPLICATION AT YOUR NEW HALL BEFORE YOU LEAVE BETHEL SO THAT WHEN YOU GET HOME YOU WONT HAVE TIME TO THINK ABOUT IT TWICE. Pretty sneak eh? I was like, wow! Great Idea!! Good thing I did not.
I served for almost many many years. It was a struggle to re-enter the real world. I talked to a few long timers and they are terrified - especially the ones that have no family in the truth. In Bethel you roll with the High and Mighty and have no worries (in comparison to the real world).
The only suggestion I give Bethel (hope you are listening JR BROWN) ... You better tell them what to expect, don't give them the same dribble (Jah does not forget what you have done for his name) Well Jah might not, but the WTBTS does. I guess it's hard for you WTBTS SINCE NONE OF YOU KNOW WHAT THE REAL WORLD IS...correct? Yeah, that is what I thought. At least tell the truth!!! Yeah, I guess it's hard to break old habits. But for the love of God! Tell them that they will struggle, help them to get on their feet. I mean they GAVE their life serving at your precious castle. But you don't care. All you care about are #'s. Who cares if you lose a handful of Bethelites, you don't need them anymore, you got what you wanted. Well glad you are enjoying you reward in full.
Yes. I am enjoying my stay at Hotel California
