Hi everyone, I figured what better place to get the" truth" JWD. I am traveling with my sons to visit a few colleges June29-July5. My 16yr old son is looking at colleges and I am taking his younger brother(13) along with us. Would love some input if you have any.
We will first be in Richmond VA 29th and 30th.Visiting University of Richmond Monday 9:30. I will have a car so getting around is no problem.
Then Washington DC July 1st visiting one school. Will have time in the afternoon and evening
The on to Raleigh NC No time there visiting two schools in one day.
Flying to Nashville July 2nd in the evening. We will be there until the 5th. My son is taking a songwriting course at Vanderbilt(also checking out school) and will hopefully get to play at the Bluebird Cafe which is part of course (I think Wednesday ).
I would greatly appreciate any advice or suggestions you might have. My husband is not coming with us(someone has to work)but he is giving me his Garmin. My boys are already complaining about my getting lost and we haven't left yet!!
Thanks in advance, Champ

Why I will NEVER be an elder again
by stillajwexelder inso the po confirmed what many on this board already know.
at latest round of co to elders meeting, the co quoted from the society outline.
any elder or ms who encourages college for his kids or others or who allows his children to go to college will no longer qualify.. he then asked if i was going to take the cos encouragement and reach out again to be an elder and get my hours on the ministry up.. i replied "i will never be an elder again - i strongly approve of further education and college and have been through college myself.

I really wonder how this will effect those who did not go to college because Armegettinoutofhere, was right around the corner(75"). Now they are, for the most part, struggling in dead end jobs, are they going to let that happen to their kids? Having said that my sister-in-law's sisters son finished high school and was brilliant and wanted to be an architect. Instead of college he is basically apprenticing at a design firm (WTF)!!!The dad is an Elder so now I get it.

Just be careful. I remember when I first found this site and I really wanted to shout to the world about the JW bullshit. But my one brother is still very strong in the "truth". One of my other brothers who is also out, told me to cool it because my brother was starting to get the feeling I was apostate!! He was afraid my brother would stop speaking to me..
So go slowly because you just never know with JW's
Just my 2cents.

Hi Blondie, I am not sure where you got the articles from, could you let exactly.
I have been out so long but constantly fight with my JWdad who's an elder, and my brother who was removed and now back as a MS. I really just can't believe they write this $hit!!!
