Whats the dumbest reason youve been counseled?

Hey Miss Peaches, I know I'm getting sidetracked, but I wasn't around in Oct when you posted your "earlobe thread".........

when my middle boy (now in his teens), was around two he used to twiddle my nipples (with his fingers) whilst in bed with us. He was weaned when he was 18 months, but still loved having a little play with his "old friends". when i became pregnant with my third i became super sensitive and could not stand to have him touch me like that! he started twiddling my earlobes instead!

I remember I'd be feeding the new baby, and he'd be sitting next to me playing with my ears. after some time i "weaned" him away from my ears. But when he was tired or upset he would fiddle with his own earlobes. (I guess it could have been more antisocial!) very ocassionally, even now, i still see him do this!

maybe you awakened some primeordeal memory in that guy that was to hard to handle!

the snow is not great, the season's pretty short, and depends a lot on snow making. don't get much powder, more like "elephant snot"! but we take what we can get and make the most of it, and still have fun.

we stayed at Steamboat, Colorado three seasons ago. it was fantastic. We were there for Australia Day - 26th January. it had a great atmosphere, Aussie flags flying, I think half the lifties were Aussies!

i have a friend that hasn't been to a meeting in over a year.

she recently got a divorce from her abusive jw spouse.

he beat her up and tore down a door in front of several people.

i remember when i was in my teens helping my mother and her friend stake out her estranged husbands apartment to prove that his girlfriend stayed the night there. we took it in shifts all night two awake, one asleep. saw them going in, and both coming out the next morning.

we really believed we were doing the right thing to help her get a scriptural divorce. (it was also a bit of excitement for me!) (memo to old self: "get a life"...........oh yeah, i already did,........a long time ago!!)

I don't think that the elders would have barged in to get some evidence. they were only in the hall, what would that prove.......

i think they just get carried away thinking that they are going to help this spiritually sick sister...........

they do need to be taken down a peg or two

i remember a lot of hooha when i was a kid about not being able to use cochineal food colouring because it contained insect blood.

The Jensen Letters

the jensen letters is the name given to a series of letters between an elder in the united states and the watchtower society, over the period 1998 to 2003, and neatly illustrate the plight of thinking jehovah's witnesses trying to make sense of the society's blood policy.

they are remarkable in terms of both the incisive questions asked about critical aspects of the blood policy and the society's incompetent attempts at 'spin' and sidestepping awkward issues.

even more remarkably, they conclude with the writer's letter of resignation as an elder!

Yup, I lived as a JW teenager through that time. Although they never outright said it was going to happen then, they did say it would be fitting or appropriate. I think by then they were abit wary about possible law suits in the future, not to mention "egg on face"

My parents also began hoarding food before that time....

mind you my dad also told me to stock extra staples before 2000, "the millenium bug could cause chaos in trading"

me and my fiance are going the rounds on where to go for our honeymoon.

she loves the tropics (she grew up in the phillipines).

i can't stand heat paired with humidity (i grew up in utah.

i guess heat depends on what you're used to.

When we moved to OZ from Scotland it was September, moved to South of Sydney. We thought it was warm, but not overpowering. we went to the beach, and swam in the ocean. we were the only ones doing that, except for surfers in wetsuits. we even got sunburnt. haven't been in the ocean before December since!

six years later I went back to Scotland on a trip. my cousins said it was a heatwave and were wearing shorts and singlets. We were in jeans and jumpers! the sun was out but there was no heat in it.

But generally South Eastern Australia has temperate days in September. That's when the olympics were held in 2000, not too hot but still some nice weather.

my husband is a "fly fishing nut", I prefer a good book! The trout season in the rivers here is from october until june, that's because the trout are still spawning upstream. i think NZ is similar. There is no limit on fishing in the lakes, and there are some whoppers to be had. Australia doesn't have north atlantic salmon, except for Tasmania. But the trout are great.

i don't know about fly fishing in the rest of the UK, but in Scotland it will cost you an arm and a leg, the rights to fish are all privately owned and it's not just a case of casting your line. have a great time wherever you go.
