losing jehovah was like losing a girlfriend that you loved.
you barely had time to flinch when you found out that she had been sleeping with all your friends and stealing your records to pawn off.
that you had just been another sucker on the vine.. when jehovah dumps you, you start looking at yourself longer and harder, and wondering what it was about him that you found in yourself, until all you see there in the reflection is just yourself, dancing with an imaginary hand and waistline.. when jehovah was gone, and the war was over, i realized that all the things that had made me "good", and "moral", and "hate what was bad", didn't mean anything to me anymore.

i was reading a post on here from a young man who will be facing a judicial committee for a sin he committed.
he is asking for advice on what to do.
a lot of feelings came rushing in on me as i thought back to how my brother was unfairly treated by an elder body.
thanks for sharing your and your brothers story. It's just sickening...............
so many lives, in the palm of their hands..........such power...........such abuse of that power......... grrrr, I'm so angry right now.
best wishes

why is it so offensive to a jw when a person mentions the cross?
I liked Shazards analogy,
JW's don't believe in the cross, they prefer a phallic symbol!

thanks for the responce i got about hereing my story.. i have never used a discussion forum before, so i just figured out that you responded to my message about hearing my story.. here goes.
but i worn you it's long.. i was raised around the religion, parants baptized when i was seven.

well, not really rebellion but that i've wanted one of these for a long time so i went and did it today, and i love it!
my little sister came out for a visit this weekend and i told her everything about leaving the jw's.
she has pretty much left about 6 months ago when she went away to college.
it's cool. I said my sixteen year old could get one, but then she said no she really wants an eyebrow ring which neither me or her father are ready for yet!
good on you!

Hey you guys, I saw the stones in concert in Sydney two years ago and they rocked.
I don't know how many songs they did at the superbowl, I guess it would only be a few cause there's a game to play too......maybe they just need some warm-up time. you know to loosen up those old arthritic joints!!
but seriously, they still had it two years ago. We had a great night!
D (pick the stones out of your own eyes before the boulders from others class!)
australia has a severe shortage of skilled workers and is targeting brits - very successfully.. last year nearly 100,000 brits moved here.. the australian 4 feb... "the big lure wasn't economic..it was a new lifestyle and better opportunities for the kids.
and the big sweetener was the exchange rate.
prospective workers owned homes worth about (pounds)160,000 to 190,000, or about $450,000.
You guys!!!, I had to have an early night last night and missed all the goodhearted aussie slagging banter!!
Hey Wombat, how's your mum, hope her burns are improved. skin gets so fragile in the elderly. Poor darling.......hope she's over it.
Cheers unc, I'm from the south coast too, but not as low as you (hehe on the map i mean) We're good friends with Nick and Margaret Theris, you may know them, and have been down your way a few times to visit them.
Ellie, sorry you're plans didn't work out before, you should check again though, often the rules change. and maybe you could think of a three to five year plan in doing some further training to allow you to apply. I know that Oz is desperate for nurses, and you'd be welcomed with open arms in that case.
Greendawn, Wombat will have to answer you on what other trades are needed. I didn't see the newspaper article he quoted.
Serendipity. The best place to live..............it's all relative to what you want, need and like. There's a bit of competition between Sydney and Melbourn as to which is better. For me Sydney wins, more beaches, and the harbour. But I hate living in the city, too big, noisy, etc. I live in a small town, around 10,000 people, south of Sydney. We still have good entertainment, living costs are cheaper, but not so much job availability. We're still close enough to go up to Sydney and see some big name live acts when we want. (3 hour drive). Dec I saw the foo fighters.....they rocked. Also saw Peter Frampton........he's still got it, but doesn't look anything like he used to. also just bought tickets to see Buddy Guy and Robert Cray in April.........should go off!!
Best wishes

not too long ago, i would have told you that the proper way of spelling shiraz was to leave the "raz" off and replace it with a "t.".
sorry all you aussies out there.
alas i freely admit i was wrong as i sip a victorian 03 by greenpoint.
so you're saying you got "new light" on the matter!!
BTW exactly two weeks from this very minute some fine aussie shiraz will be sampled, I may even propose a toast (vile, pagan practice!) at our Sydney apostagathering...........
the more the merrier.............attendees and shiraz!!
best wishes
glad you saw the light!

my mom asked me if some of her jw relatives from ca could come and stay .
with me for 2 days and see some of the sites.
mom told them all about .
phew!
that's pure passive fullon aggression.
you can choose you're friends, but can't choose your relatives.
Does your mother know what they're like, or is it all going to land on you?!
you did well standing up for yourselfs, what a nerve some people have.
