"..did any of you fill in the details, all dates and the hours and deliveries on very date and stuff before turning it in..."
Yep, I used to be the sort of sad plonker that would fill something in in every line. And then one day an elder that I thought I got on really well with handed one back to me and said something like "That's very impressive".
I figured by his tone of voice he thought I was showing off.

Advice Article-What to do when JWs say you should never trust the critics
by IsaacJS2 ini've noticed that this is something witnesses in my area tend to do.
i consider it an excuse not to think about the issues raised by critics.
in any case, when they bug us about about returning to the society we often tend to do the "who you gonna believe?

Can We All Just Get Along?
by flipper inhello folks!
of course the title on this thread may have caught your attention from the riots in la in the 90's when rodney king made the statement.
i think it's a great statement, simple, but oh so true.

I concur Mr Flipper.
I remember as a newbie here one of my earliest posts was an attempt at some dry humour that didn't come off and I was absolutely hammered by others. When I apologised in another post the response was as bad. It left me in tears that I could be so misunderstood by JW's and ex Jw's alike.
But I learned that a personal sense of humour does not always translate well in the written form over the internet. So use emoticons and other 'softening' methods to reduce the chance of offending.
Some people don't ever seem to have developed a sense of humour. Something to do with dubdom?
Hope that helps someone. -

WingCo. Return to base. You're grounded. You put that F22 back where you found it and we'll retrain you on Stearmans for a while.
OTWO, you take over for the restrained answer. -

My wife (oneoftwelve), was told that being a midwife was a no-no as it would expose her to blood issues, abortion, unwed couples and other filthy practices. She figured that marriage, children and knitting was as good as it will get in this system.
Last year at age 42 she came top of her class in foundation studies and this year is in the top 5 % of her 1st year midwifery class.
Meek girl that she is, she now proffers the middle finger to the old Bastards in Brooklyn. -

Words and Possible Alternate Meanings
by Clam ini saw this the other day.
the washington post apparently has a yearly contest where readers are asked to supply alternate meanings for various words -- and the winners were .

Was There Any Watchtower Interpretation That You Never Quite Understood?
by minimus ini knew what the watchtower taught regarding the "faithful & discreet slave class" but how they could ever suggest that "domestics" were "individual members" of the anointed that were given food to the other anointed ones, yet they specifically were not members of the governing body, but the governing body represented the group that would take the lead in feeding others, was beyond me!
the whole interpretation of the fds doctrine is ridiculous!.
were there certain things that puzzled you as to how the watchtower could come up with a particular view?

FFF, this is one of mine too. Not more than one day after conception and Jehovah recognised the embryo as a human. So, no resurrection?!
Bonnie said; " I asked how this could be because it said "immediately." He explained that "immediately" could really be 1900+ years, .." Never worked the 'time' thing out. As the Prophet Lord Morrissey asked, "How Soon Is Now?"
Aside from The WT, the Bible itself has plenty that I can't get my head around such as children will not suffer for their fathers sins. The WT has never even tried to explain that as far as I can tell. -
