  What is the best thing to bring out in a letter of DA ?

  i think i'm about done my mom can stay i don't care fortunetly my dad never joined and sence he is the head i hope he won't just kick me out till i'm ready.

  my mom is starting to pry again in to why i not doing well as a dub..

  You can approach it anumber of ways.
  
  You can write a detailed letter of why you are DAing. It may be therapeutic to you but no one will read it.
  
  You can send a brief note saying you no longer wish to be known as a JW and leave it at that.
  
  Or you can refuse to play their game and let them run around after you while you get on with life.
  
  I think if you lay out issues you may be inviting the elders to come and talk you out of DA'ing.

  A 'pair' of socks, OK. But why a 'pair' of pants?

  wonder why certain garments are referred to in the plural, pants, underwear, trousers?

  why not a pair of shirts?

  "i put on a fresh pair of shirts this morning" or why not say "i spilled coffee on my pant and i need to change it".

  Why is it so many Men agree to take on the Position of an Elder?

  i just wonder because with the stresses of earning a living, taking care of immediate family, and getting in little free time that is available, why would anyone want to take on this extra job at no charge, answer to more bosses, and be submited to endless critisizing behind your back for decisions.

  Prior to being appointed, it was put to me that as I qualified, how could I not accept the position? At 23 or so I was honoured! Put that way how could one refuse?

  there are 1,069,530 publishers in america.

  notice the growth spurt at the beginning of 2006. the last month of the service year shows an increase of 2.3%.

  this year and/or next year may very well show jehovah's witnesses as the fastest growing religion in america once again.. .

  something very unusual happened the other day.

  after 20 years of being treated like satan, my mother spoke with the visiting co. and told him my story.

  he was disgusted with the elders who did this to me..... according to my mother he was furious.

  Tyrone, sometime what happens here on JWD is we get the odd new poster who knows a little about JW's and comes on with a half believable story just to wind everyone up. And there are a lot of open wounds here!
  So when your experience didn't quite fit into the kind of usual parameters then some got a bit assertive. As you've posted further your story has become clearer and of course you were relating through your eyes and not in 'Watchtower speak'.
  So, good to have you here and it sounds like you've got a lot to get off your chest.

  What words of comfort can you give to an ex-witness who is very depressed?

  there is someone who posts on this board who is very depressed.

  life can throw you curves and it can be hard enough without the excess baggage of having been a witness.. can you please help her with some kind words?.

  Dear Warlocks friend. Can you differentiate between being sad and depressed right now? If you can't, talk to someone in counselling or psych. services very soon. Keep someone you care about with you all the time and DON"T try and 'snap yourself out of it'. Just do simple things for a while and get help to put those curve balls into perspective.
  Don't let the WT sense of worthlessness beat you down.

  JW's Want Bite Of Shark Attack Victims Story?

  a teenager had his lower right leg bitten off by a great white on the weekend in esperance, australia.

  he was rescued by two kiwis who stopped the bleeding and got him to hospital.

  on monday night the tvnz news said that jehovahs witnesses wanted the rights to his story!!!

  I was sceptical of the JW connection initially when I saw him being loaded into the ambulance he gave the 'hang loose/god of rock & roll' sign, you know the one with the index and little fingers but it might not draw the 'gasp!' effect with some.
