No I am not a JW I am an exJW. But my wife and my father are both JWs.
Why do you need clarification?
i was just thinking that there maybe a dark future ahead.. i hope i am way off but you never can tell.
we have all seen a lot of talk recently about the end is near, etc.... yes, i know they have always said it.
but they were never in this bad of shape, shrinking membership and funds.

Honestly, does any of that sound rational? Or does it sound more like desperation? If it is desperation then what is next? How many times have these controling cults, when they think their backs are to the wall, have they slautered their followers, one way or another? I know we all will say, "Yea, but the average JW is too smart for that." How many times do we all see, and read about here, how the most absurd things our friends and family members say. And how they are able to rationalize everything down to Gods channel is to be obeyed.
Again I hope I am totally wrong but I have thought about it, and they do sound desperate. And it worries me.
Please let me know what you think. LOL

Does this give the rest of us a legal way to get our records from the WT?
if it was proven that jesus, in fact, has a bloodline.
what do you think this will do to religions?
and is it at all possible to prove that mary magdalene and jesus had an intimate relationship?
XJW4EVR-
Well from that "review" I will not waist my time. I to am a believer and I hear enough anti-christian thoughts everyday, so I don't need to go looking for them. This has been a good chat. My best to you

Sorry for the confusion, I was not saying it was legalism to insist he was single, but rather to insist either position when the Bible is not specific on the issue. You do make a graet point about Paul. I still don't think that Paul "proves" the issuse one way or the other, but your reasoning makes good since to me. As far as stating somthing verbatim from the book, maybe I should read it? Would it really be worth the time? Will it change my mind about the Death, Burial, and resurection of Christ, I don't think so, Other than that is the story at least entertaining or is it just trying to prove a point?

I did not realize I was raging. I was just saying I don't believe it is that important if Jesus was married or not. It won't change the faith of most believers, but maybe I'm wrong on that. I don't think the Catholic church or any other will crumble if he was married.
I honestly did not know who Dan Brown is, as I have not nor do I have any plans on reading the book by him or seeing the Tom Hanks movie. Not for any other reason than I just don't want to. I may chose differantly in the future ut who knows. I seened to upset you whit what I said so I am sorry.
Blues Brother-
Thanks, I totally missed that one.

I don't know who Dan Brown is/was I was refering to Jewish tradition. My only point was that the Bible does not say Jesus was or wasn't married. So it should not be an issue. Some may believe he was and some may believe he was not. We should not divide over this issuse. To insist on one belief or the other when the Bible does not say so, anounts to legalism which is one of the reasons many of us left the Org.

It was "expected" for a Jew to marry and have children. Just as it was "expected" for a son to do the same work as the father, and nowhere does the bible say Jesus was or was not a carpenter. It does say his father was. Nowhere does the bible say that Jesus was or was not married. If the Bible is the word of God and does not mention these things one way or another then it is not important. To say that if he was married or not would make a difference in Gods plans then an all knowing God would have said something about it. IMO
