Seven Trumpets of Revelation

i read on here that the society teaches that the seven trumpets of revelation are representative of seven conventions held in america in the 1920. is this actually true?

is it old light?

i asked some witnesses but they all gave me a look like i was weird and said it couldn't be right, and i can't check the watchtower library as i can't get it on my computer (apparently the society doesn't think mac users are worthy of the 'good news') i mean... it would be a bit...odd, wouldn't it?

Yes they do/did say that. it was in their Revelation - It's Grand Climax Is At Hand book. They are making changes to that book so I am not sure if these are among them. Try and get an older printing if you can.

They have "studied" this book a few times since it was released and they all say they believe it the truth. Yet ask them about it when the book is not in their hands and they don't know what you are talking about. It seems that their mind can see how truly foolish a statment like that would be. Yet in the WT setting they will swallow and follow it without question.

The book of Revelation talks about the JW in the 20th century, is that not the most blantly arrogant thing you have heard from a religion?

If it wasn't so sad it would be too funny.

I think this is just so WT.

First they Df people who find out about this story and ask questions. They say it is a lie. But now some of their apologists are defending it. How, or better yet, why would they defend something that "never happened". If the average JW was to ask and demand an answer as to why this happened even now, would they be Df'ed?

A question on blood

ive been wondering, over the past few years as more and more blood fragments are being "allowed by god", do these new revelations coincide with and gb members their families, or other prominent one's needing such treatment?

in other words if they need it then god changes his mind and allows it.. if that could be shown then it could really "play well in the press".

i don't know if there is any way we could find out but i have thought about it.

Anointed retain Heavenly Calling, even if DF'd

can an anointed christian who is disfellowshiped later be reinstated and still have the heavenly hope?

he wrote to christians who had been anointed by holy spirit and given the hope of heavenly life.

Don’t you just love the way they fill in the gaps to make this fit their already formed ideas?

One of these anointed Christians began to practice fornication. When he evidently did not repent and stop his immorality, Paul directed the congregation to disfellowship him. (1 Cor. 5:1-5, 9-13) However, it seems that this disfellowshiped person thereafter did sincerely repent. He is understood to be the person whom Paul was referring to in his second letter when he advised the Corinthians to forgive and accept back the former sinner.—2 Cor. 2:6-11; 7:8-13.

Paul did not say he did not repent so disfellowship him. Paul said he is fornicating with his fathers wife and the congregation knew about it and did nothing. Yes he did say put him out from among you, and it seems that they then did just that. They were good little JW’s, they treated him as dead (perhaps). But in 2 Cor. Paul does not say he repented and asked to come back, (he very well may have but Paul did not say that). However Paul also did not tell them to make him go to meetings and be shunned for six months, and all the other bull poop JW’s do. Paul said go and drag him back, show him love, lest the sorrow over take him,. Further Paul said that he had already forgiven him.

Also if some one is of the anointed and is df’d, only Jehovah can determine if they lose their spot in heaven? Then why can the elders tell someone they are not of the anointed? I have seen quite a few people “partake” one year and then not do so after the elders council them about their calling?

well, last night i asked my "believing" wife that question (if you could ask only one question and get a truthfull response, what would it be?).

now mind you, i have been working on my wife for awhile since she still goes to meetings.

yet, she still insists that it is the "truth".

Wow!

Is that not the sad part about this whole religon thing? So many expect to find one person or religion that has "All the answers". And if a group of people start to agree on some beliefs they start putting up walls, and making laws, and then start judging eachother on who is or isn't worthy.

Shunning

is it emotionally damaging to those who shun others?

It is so very frustrating when I here them say, it is the df'ed preson that chooses to be shunned. What a bunch of crap, Like we all want our family and friends to act as if we are dead.

I make a point of saying hello especially if other people are around. The few who don't respond look like butts. I could just here their conversations...."Why did you not say hello to that person they seemed to know you?" "Because he is not a JW anymore and I love him, and the Bible say not to speak to him." I thought the JW had unconditional love because the Bible says to have unconditional love?" "Yes, we do, and as soon as he starts doing everything we say, just the way we say it, and admitts he is wrong and submits to our scrutiny, we will love him unconditionally.

My father to his credit has never shunned me but he does restrict our time together. He claims we dont talk anymore but I have to point outy that it is because he is a two subject person, first subject is "What we heard at the meetings" and the second is "When are you comming back to the meetings." And when I say I'm not he doesn't want to talk anymore. I remember once at a small family gathering my father tells some of my cousins that the reason for their (the JW) shunning me was that I chose to worship Satan instead of God.(Notice he did not say Jehovah). Well my cousins really fliped on this one until I made my dad admit to them that in his JW belief system they too are Satan worshipers.

DIGGING DOG!!!

i have a heeler/australian shepard mix, male, 10 months old.

he is a great dog other than the fact that he digs like crazy!!

he dug up 6 trees, several holes in the yard, and all the bark in our landscaped areas.

When you are there give the dog as much attention as you can. If the dog is allowed in the house this will help because if he is just with you he thinks it is attention. Remember dogs are pack animals and are very social. As was mentioned it could be anxiety, from being alone. The toys are a good idea also. However the most important thing to the dog is his pack and the packs acceptance of him.

For more dirrect action go to every place he is digging (watch for new spots also) and sprinkle in some cayanne pepper. I know this sounds mean but while it does cause the dog discomfort, it does not hurt him as much as it would you or I if we got a nose full. He will smell it long before he stuck his nose deep in the hole.

If this is an older dog you may not have much success, but if this is a puppy then just accept the dog as a part of your "pack" and follow the other steps as needed. Puppies do dig a lot. I almost forgot, if it is quite hot where you are he may also be trying to get cool by laying in freshly uncovered ground. Go and dig down about 3 inches yourself and touch the dirt and you will see it is about 10 degrees cooler than the ground at the surface.

I've been invited to the convention

ok, i've been out for 15 yrs.

my wife is still in and very zelous.

Thanks much for all the replies. I will still like to hear more if anyone has any. I have still not decided if I will go or not, as i could use a good day doing nothing at all! I will say that many people, even elders in her cong. are very nice and are friendly to me. There are a few butts however they know I won't put up with their nonsince. Over all they are cool though. As most of us know they are just misled. But if I do go and people start the old I'm better than you routine I will walk out after i tell them off. Just so you know I am not a person that likes confrontation at all, but I don't back down when I am confronted. I will be polite and friendly I promise.

Mouthy - Do you know something I don't know? LOL
