  The plot line to almost all movies that come out today.

  ever notice how much every movie follows the same plot line and pattern, so much so, that you can set your watch by it.

  here it is .... the introduction - the short moment in the beginning of the movie that has you listening to characters explain themselves and their past.. the point - the short moment that follows the introduction that explain what this movie will be about, and offer at least a couple subtle points that will be major in the end.

  (example, a small character mentioning something they know, someone they know or a history they share).

  free2beme....If you are tired of that plot structure, rent Mulholland Drive. You end up thinking "What the hell was that?" after watching the whole story fall apart ten minutes from the end, and then you have to use your brain to figure out what you've been watching the whole time. One of my favorite movies; it's like a psychological novel filled with symbolism and enigma that suddenly all makes sense when you figure out what's going on.

  Any David Lynch movie is like that. (except for maybe the one with Richard Farnsworth..."The Straight Story"):

  1. Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me (I'd recommend the tv series first, if possible)
  2. The Lost Highway
  3. Blue Velvet

  Don't read anything about them, just watch them.

  Anyone know a good hangover cure?

  not for me, i might add.. my boyfriend, who isn't a big drinker, went out with his best mate and a few other friends last night on a birthday celebration.

  they went to see some led zeppelin tribute band, and around a few pubs as well.

  he staggerred in at around 1:30am, just after i'd gone to bed, very much the worse for drink, and had to make frequent visits to the loo all night.

  Get a quart of one of the electrolyte-replacing sports drinks, like GATORAIDE, add an equal amount of water, (so you have 2 quarts total) and invite him to quaff deeply of the cup over the next few hours.Be careful not to overdose on the over-the-counter pain meds like ibuprofen.

  Aha, a drinker. Gatorade(or powerade). is the best thing, also, saltines help a lot with the upset stomack. If I have a night of heavy drinking(much less infrequently, I'd like to add), I make sure to have gatorade by my bedside. Rehydrates better than water. This will only help avoid hangover, mind you. If you drank so much you're puking, all you can do is puke until you are done.

  evolution or creation? lets talk...

  ok, lets have a discussion about where we all came from, evolution or creation?

  (or whatever you beleive in of course) every one put down there main reasons, along with reasonable facts and backup as to why.. .

  hopefully this doesnt start to many arguments, lol.. .

  The way I see it is that I have two options:

  1. base my opinion on where all of the facts point. Some questions have not yet been answered, but the questions that do have answers, have facts to back them up.
  2. a. base my opinion on...um, a story, ignoring facts altogether. b. recognise the facts, but claim reasonable doubt because...well, because we really like the old story.

  I'll bet you can guess where I stand.

  My mother's funeral March 05, don't remember the last actual meeting. I think it was about 5 years ago when they announced my reinstatement. HAHA!

  Is it possible for someone to "Love being a JW"?

  a few days ago, i met an old lady that has a jw as neighbour.

  she knows that jw couple since years, although she isn't a jw.

  so, i asked that old lady, "do you still see that jw couple once in a while", hoping for some kind of juicy news..... so, my question is, "how can a person love to be a jw" when so many others just "hate" being in that religion?.

  If they don't feel or know that they have been wronged (or robbed), then why not? Some people love their bible god. I don't understand it. So they (the society) use more severe tactics than many other religions. If the individual does not yet feel wronged by the JWs, if they for some reason enjoy banging on doors because they think it is what God wants, who am I to try and point out that it is not "love" for Jehovah, which to them is the equivalent of being a Jehovah's Witness. I'm rambling, but I say sure. You would have to define "love". Love means different things to different people.

  I don't like running (you know, for like, exercise). Some people love it. It makes them feel wonderful, or something.

  I am an atheist, but I'm not foolish enough to believe that religion is the reason for all of the wars, bloodshed, etc. It is just a very useful tool. Greed and power are the main reasons, religion is just one way to motivate the quest for control. Nationalism is a religion of sorts (in this context). Want power? Create a group(base it on religion/race/nationality/class, become a leader, gain power, make it "us against them".

  It is a lot easier for individuals to get along than for groups. As long as people continue to band together and form these groups, divisions amongst the groups will continue to grow. If it isn't based on religion it will just be based on something else. Wow, that is kinda negative sounding isn't it? Well, those are just my morning thoughts.

  Actually, I have had to ask a somewhat similar question before. It is a morbid question and while I don't know your reason for asking I will give a decent reason for the question (barring limiting myself to household chemicals). We had a goldfish at work that was developed some sort of tumor or something. It was swimming upside down and bleeding. I would have simply flushed it but it was HUGE so that wasn't an option. I at least wanted to euthanize it. I was not allowed to just run it over with the car. A bit violent for my tastes and I was working with females. I was told to put it outside (it was below freezing), it would get hypothermia, supposedly, though I suspected that it would just suffocate before that happened, and die painlessly (aside from the pain it was already in I guess).

  I had a cat that became emaciated because of a tumor. I brought it to the vet to be put to sleep. (at first we just thought she was pregnant until you pet her and could just feel bones) They refused and instead said they would have to do exploratory surgery to rule out the possibility of saving it(no guarantee, just ruling out the possibility), which would have been extremely expensive (especially for a farm cat). Two days later (on the weekend) it was unable to even lift up its head (let alone walk). It spent an hour on my bed having seizures. I don't own a gun and didn't think it would be right to do the tailpipe thing. I strangled it to death. It took about twenty to thirty seconds, and it is the most horrible thing that I have ever done in my life. I almost feel like crying right now. If there would have been a better way (I didn't want to be seen outside gassing her with carbon monoxide from the tailpipe of my car) I would have done it.

  If Someone Hurts You Or Pisses You Off, How Do You Usually Deal With It?

  If it is a stranger, I curse under my breath hoping they hear me (barring of course some sort of sincere"oh, sorry bout that, buddy, my bad" frome their end)unless it is clear that there actions were deliberate and reckless, in which case I will speak up and make known my anger and be willing to back my words up if things get hairy.

  If it is someone that I am close to then it usually goes something like:

  1. hope they notice on there own and apologize profusely, if not-
  2. silent treatment...still nothing?
  3. try hard to let it go , which rarely if ever works for me.
  4. subtle hints, snide remarks...
  5. let it simmer deep down while other (usually minor and otherwise tedious) infractions pile up, until I finally lay it all out for them(remember all of the things that I said I was going to be the better person about and let slide?) in rather harsh terms (if necessary). This can be rather time consuming and is not a recommended way of dealing with issues. It can go on for months too, unless it is my wife in which case all of those things still take place(the order can be changed a little) but are expedited because neither one of us should ever have to feel like we should be sleeping on the couch.
