What would have become of mankind if Jesus Mother Mary had rejected God?

i have always wondered about this since i was a little kid.

since jehovah gives people free will and does not use "robots" what would have happened if mary had told jehovah god "no i don't want to bear any children "never"?

would jehovah had picked another woman to give birth to jesus or would jehovah had to rewrite the old testament and delete the entire book of isaiah that prophecies "a virgin given birth to a savior"?

i agree with narkissos. i was going to say that she was the one that said yes. i always wondered who the snitch would've been if judas had said no; but since he didn't we'll never know. i believe it had to be someone but not neccesarily judas to betray jesus, the same with mary, someone had be the babies mother and she was the one. as for adam i'm not sure which scenario would work. but as a bad son myself, and considering what we know about the condition called human, i think sometimes people just do stupid things.

and sometimes innocent people get hurt, i'm not sure whether adam was stupid or evil--but i prefer to think stupid because i understand that!!!

My JW client!!!

without disclosing who or where, i have a jw client who is pursuing an unfair dismissal claim and i have today managed to negotiate a hefty settlement in respect of his dispute (he was actually quite wronged to a degree).

he obviously doesnt know i post here because i dont suppose he would mix with apostates (even though i have done some good work for him).

so i presented the offer to him and some advice as to whether or not he should accept the offer and largely its a commercial decision he faces; does he carry on and continue to incur fees or does he settle now for a decent sum and cut his losses; you can imagine the scenario.

this is meant to be informative and not critical. are you saying that this person wanting to give some thought to the decision was wrong? or were you saying that his method, praying, was wrong? or were you saying that not doing what ~~the elders~~ the attornies have decided is the proper thing to do was wrong? i don't know you, i do know you have a good reputation here at jwd and so i am moved to tell you that posting what you have is just plain lawyer trashy...

if you don't like this person, or don't agree with their position, quit cashing their checks and tell them to move on. it really is that simple. if you don't respect this person or their opinions then give them a chance to find someone who does. but, don't go behind their back and giggle with your friends about how stupid they are for not taking your command, disguised as advice. you are employed by this person they are not your employee. your advice, even if it is very well advised and proper, is only your advice. i personally think you owe this person an apology, but that is my advice and not binding on you in any way.

when i was a witness, i once had a elder tell me that he was positive the fbi was tracking witness activity.

even saying that he would not fill out anything that stated his religion on official, or even unofficial documents that were not from the society, as he felt this was a tool to track witnesses.

i remember once in a talk, it was mentioned that witnesses are not free from government tracking and that we should expect this.

thanks to everyone for the input. i think my point would be that we all have an opinion and none of us have enough evidence to convince others that ours is the correct one. hellrider i think your observations are spot on in relationship to the thinking of a number of watchtower society members who try to justify a lot of harm they do by convincing themselves that jehova will support any thing they present as his word because they have found themselves worthy. i'll just say that a lot of people are going to be shocked at the reality they have refused to accept...that is, if a persons conduct is unacceptable, hypocritical, and judgemental they will not survive. in the end i think the concept of lies as theocratic warfare has done more to drive honest hearted individuals away from "society think" than it has attracted the hardcore. we had never heard of cognitive dissonance until a few weeks ago...thanks to this forum we have a name for the discomfort we felt because of the lying and double speak we were constantly encountering within the congregation. on some level liars know they are lying just like thieves know they are stealing. when you lie to me you have stolen the truth from me. there is no excuse for that....

how about that my first topic generation and my first oops a ...anyway, on another thread this subject came up and got me to wondering; who do you think will be saved at armegeddon? on the other thread diamondblue1974 asked "why must all non jws be destroyed? surely jws are not the only good god fearing people on earth? (and to be honest most of those jws aren't either)" beep,beep's answer is the one that i would think we all could agree on(no matter which group you identify with on this board). his answer, "who will be destroyed and who will not isn't ours to call. i'm glad it's not up to me." this is how i've always thought about it because i have told many people to "go to hell" and so far none of them have, that i know of. hellrider seems to disagree, or at least doubt the veracity of beep,beep's answer. so i was wondering does anyone else have any thoughts on this? my answer other than the one above is ,me and my sweetie, and the rest of you will have to fend for yourselves, but then that isn't a real threat to anyone is it?

galations 5:22-23--- ...the fruitage of the spirit is love,joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. against such things there is no law.

because we are mortal the time of the end is always near, we may not have until tomorrow to start exhibiting the fruitage of the spirit. if i die tonight as a jerk, the fact that i intended to do better tomorrow does not mean anything.

just for information. i counted five mentions(sentences) in the forbes article where the term new directive was mentioned. of course you know and i know there is nothing new in it. the pda and all that other stuff came up at least two years ago. however the public, in general, may not be aware of this.

being proven right about all the things i suspected before i became a jw... i do not regret what i've done, but sometimes the degree to which my suspicions have been proven right is overwhelming... due to an extremely abusive, non jw, childhood i've never thought people(with a few exceptions)could be trusted to do anything that was in my best interest or who would not hurt me in any way neccesary to further their own petty interests. and so far i've been proven right. and yet i've always hoped that someday life would be as it could be, as it should be. the actions of the organization in general and individuals in particular have just driven another nail in the coffin that holds those hopes...the jws are not the worst thing that ever happened to me. by and large they are just another piss ant group of jerks who are way too important in their own eyes. the only power they have over us as individuals is the power we give them. i see my story in so many of the posts on this board, both the bitter and the sweet, and i want to help each and everyone but the best any of us can do is to listen and try to understand...i'm sorry if i've stumbled off the trail that is this thread but once again the thing that has hurt me the most is being proven right. i hate being right about these things...
