  For All Who Are Going to the Convention This Year

  for most of us who are going to the 'delieverance at hand' district convention we want to be low on the radar.

  but wouldn't it be terrible if we missed out meeting someone else from the board while we attended the same convention?

  listing what convention your going to might be to much of a give away for some people, but i really don't care.

  i'm sorry but i missed where you posted your real name, picture, home congregation, or any other identifying information. could you point out where i might find these? for someone with no fear you are certainly well hidden. being a danny haszard wannabe does not make you a danny haszard. if you will provide the above information i'm sure someone will be willing to take you up on your welcome. but you don't have to wait for someone else to do it, just identify yourself as theocrat on jwd to your po.

  Is it a case of; the more you know, the more disillusioned you become?

  i really feel that if you have had any kind of responsibility in the org then you are more likely to start becoming disillusioned.

  having an appointment exposed me to all sorts of things that i simply would`nt have known about had i not been in that position.

  anyone concur?

  i agree that knowledge leads to disillusion, no matter how you acquire it, when what you believe is true is actually a lie. think about it, if "the truth" was actually true then everything we learned would have strengthened us in our belief. when what you learn is the truth behind the lie you either become disillusioned or give yourself over to the lie. but accepting the lie for prominence and phony prestige doesn't offer very much protection, ask brother ex-bethelitespecialpioneer gotnojoblookingforahome and his dear wife Snotty.

  what i have no qualms about is rubbing your hypocritical little nose in your own hypocrisy. if that gets your panties in a bunch so be it. as far as the posting guidelines are concerned if you read them you would realize that swearing, using hate speech, and making obscene or vulgar comments are common place on this forum. insulting, threatening or provoking language seems to be acceptable if you are insulting, threatening or provoking the right people. but then those guidelines don't apply to you do they? how many others on this forum are not under these guidelines? so why are these guidelines posted if they are not followed and only apply to those who aren't of the priveliged class. surely you wouldn't post them so you can threaten people with removal if they don't follow the rules that no one follows, would you? abusers use many different obscenities, why aren't all of them censored? don't any of the others cause victims problems? so what is your point ,except that you have the key to edit anything you want. and you do.

  i am not the one who used this word and i have no problem with simon's posted guidelines. i do have a problem with people who feel they are above such guidelines. i don't have any problem with simon being able to get in snit and throw me or anybody else out of his house. he can throw everyone out as far as i'm concerned. are you implying that you and others have this authority? if so could you list the people who, besides simon and yourself, have the authority to remove someone just because they feel like it. i'm sure there are others who would be interested in this also. doesn't this seem all too familiar?

  i realize i've asked you a number of questions and that you probably won't answer any of them. but that is ok because sometimes just asking the question is as much as can be accomplished.

  welcome to jwd. unfortunately your story is a common one here, but there are people who want to help if they can. so stick around.

  people on this forum have been beaten, raped, lied to, and abused in every possible manner, but, thanks to your vigilance, they can be assured that their posts will be squeaky clean language wise. just like the good old days of spiritual censorship. it's good to have the key to those locked doors isn't it skully? if you don't like what we say, you just unlock that door and bang we didn't say it. how reassuring to you that must be. {delete}ing {delete} since you surely must have more important things to do than edit this post i went ahead and did it for you. no thanks are necessary.

  Mary--Perpetual Virgin?

  i read an excerpt from the book of mary stating that she was a perpetual virgin....joseph was quite up in age and was a widower with children, but was a god-fearing man and so did not sleep with her and kept her chastity...the only reason she was married was because that was apparently the law back then....so "thru god" he was chosen to take care of mary and jesus....apparently he did not have a long life after raising jesus.

  jesus was born in a cave and later when everyone was called to their birthplace...joseph, mary, and family all went to bethlehem...with no room in the inn they were in the stables but jesus was already born by then and quite possibly no longer an infant.

  this is very interesting to me because i was taught that mary did not stay a virgin (jw teachings) cause the bible mentions that jesus had brothers and sister, but this very well could have been josephs children from a previous marriage.... the excerpt came from a book called "lost books of the bible" by rh value publishing.

  Any Tricks or Tips for getting around on crutches??

  does anyone have any tricks or tips for getting around on crutches??.

  i did a stupid thing friday afternoon and ended up in the emergency room with a broken ankle and a torn up knee.

  i'm now on crutches - lucky me... .

  perhaps the only thing i can add to all these suggestions is to try to use a cane. it is different but it frees up one hand. it has been a long time but i remember that moving from crutches to a cane was definately progress. and they are great for teaching young whippersnappers who has the right of way in the cookie aisle. a cane and a motorized chair could make you the queen of the supermarket.

  y'no, i find that since i left the borg, i know more about whats in the literature and programs than when i was in.

  when your going through the motions,er, meetings, you kind of skate along.

  you read enough of the mags to place them, and listen to other zealots ( like my sister) prattle on about little nuggets of something other than gold, in the latest mag.

  we aren't out yet, but starting with the pedophelia dateline we looked at the pubs more critically and you are right. once you see it you think "how could i have missed these things?" but once you do see it i don't know how you could ever go back to being blind. i think that is why they gave quotes so much trouble. having the light shown on their ignorance and duplicity must have really hurt some egos.
