  Can you help me find info about Gods name

  hi everyone, i have tried the search function (honest!

  ) but cant find the posts that i know are here.

  tonight in the book study they were talking about daniel using gods name and i remembered reading somewhere that the jws put it in the nwt where it wasn't used.

  i just got a major shock.

  i can't believe the new levels of cruelty possible within families who are jws.. a friend on this board who i've known since i was a baby practically has managed to get me a picture of my little sister who i haven't seen for 8 years - the one who i've mentioned my dad said was working on the bethel quick build team.

  the one who i've described my fears that she and my younger sister are staying single until armageddon.

  Yes Swalker, its not the being a non governmental organization by definition thats wrong. It is being one of the UN's non governmental organizations. That defintion carries with it certain aspects that were inconsistent with the WTS's doctrines. Hence the cover up, lying, spinning, disturbed members, etc..

  Any Quick Advice For Those With Doubts in the Watchtower?

  hey all,.

  let's say you meet someone and they say that they are a jw, but they are having doubts about it.

  they are doing some research and things just aren't adding up.

  Keep it to yourself at first. Then slowly withdrawl unless you don't mind getting DFed or Disassociated. Read what the Society has written about those with doubts. Basically its ok if you get over it. If you can't you may have to be removed to protect the congregation. So do what you want but know the consequences.

  Study. Your doubts show insight. Don't kill your insight but nourish it. The internet is not dangerous, it is just a big library. Everything can be verified as true or false.

  Many others have had exactly the same doubts and have published their research, on the internet. This can save alot of time.

  Something I noticed was "apostates" were telling the truth.

  I verified the UN incident by telephone and email correspondence with the UN and telephone and snail mail with The WTS.

  I bought old WTS books on Ebay and verified other doubts and observations such as misrepresenting 1914.

  It wasn't long before I could see how the WTS manipulates information it gives to its members and then warns or prohibits them from getting outside information.

  Any organization that forbids reading information that is available to the general public should be treated with suspicion.

  If you are married and your spouse stays in it is very hard. You can't really move on with your life without creating a horrible situation for your spouse. You'll end up with two sets of friends, hers and yours. Her's won't associate with you except as a kindness to her or to try to get you to come back. It's hard to listen to the Witness to Witness chit chat without telling them where they are wrong or challenging them to explain something they probably can't.

  Btw I haven't gone in almost three years. My wife does. We have had arguments and we have had calm discussions. she knows exactly where I stand. So far its been manageable. I don't have any Witness friends anymore. I have become like an unbelieving mate. I have been making non Witness friends. I feel awkward at Witness gatherings but do it for my wife. Many people in the world do not share the religion of their mates. I am keenly aware though that if I were to attend another church or celebrate holidays or smoke there may be trouble even after all this time. So far that has not been a problem for me.

  i was talking to an elder yesterday about how enjoyable it is to get away from civilization in remote wilderness areas, unlike the circus you see at places like yosemite natl.

  with dreamy eyes he mentioned how great it will be in the "new system", when "we can enjoy uncrowded conditions.".

  As long as you equate Jehovah with the Watchtower Society your view of many things is warped and therefore innaccurate. Try to seperate the two and then listen listen to what others are saying to you.

  What view did you have of apostates when you were a JW?

  i can remember being an attendant at one of the circuit assemblies in nottingham, where a group of pentecostals were picketing out by one of the gates.

  i was intrigued for a short while, until a guy in a motorised wheelchair type thing, tried to get into the assembly by ramming himself into us.

  i could of quite happily baptised him in the trent !!

  Several times at the meetings I made comments that the hall was full of apostates,...apostate catholics, apostate lutherans, etc. etc. That didn't go over well. When they laughed at how the priests told the Catholics not talk to us or take our literature I made comments that we do the same. This too ghot me some cold shoulders. I was never afraid of apostates or viewed them as evil. I just saw them as people who did not believe what I believed. I always saw the hypocracy in many of the Witness positions and refused join in. Now I'm an apostate Jehovah's Witness. Guess I was always heading this way when I look back.
