MURFREESBORO — A Portland, Ore., woman accused of raping her two children when she lived here more than 10 years ago could face more charges as a Murfreesboro Police Department investigation unfolds.

Angela Montgomery, 50, was charged by Murfreesboro Police Detective Wayne Lawson in late August with the crime, after her two children gave the detective “detailed statements” about rapes and sexual assaults they had suffered at the hands of their mother when they lived on South Kings Highway.

Lawson began what became a more than eight-month-long investigation when he was approached by Montgomery’s two children, a 21-year-old man and 15-year-old girl, back in mid-January.

“The victims advised the events occurred approximately 10 years ago .... when they lived on South Kings Highway,” Lawson reported. “After several months of reviewing records and past statements, warrants were obtained on Ms. Montgomery for two counts of child rape with more charges pending.”

Montgomery turned herself into the jail Aug. 21 after Lawson obtained those warrants, according to a booking officer at the Rutherford County jail.

Her bond was set at $10,000, and she posted the required 10 percent on that same day.

just give up the job, the house and go somewhere where life moves at a slower pace and there are not as many electronic intrusions?

only thing to get to a place like that costs money.. if i had my way, give all of this up for a quiet life on a little small holding that can look after my needs..

If I lived in a country that didn't speak the same language.....yeah, I could run away.

Why do I dream of living in a foreign land? I wouldn't fit in. Maybe, that would make me feel more at home. I don't fit in anywhere. I was raised that the world was wicked, and the Witness friends were sacred. When I lost my view of the witnesses, I am out in the world. It seems strange. Might as well be strange.

I'd move to Bhutan. Or, Okinawa, Japan. Never been there. But, it would be a great adventure.

I read the police affidavit.

I guess Jonathan Holt was into guns as he and his dad bought guns. Funny, because one would think that JW men are not into guns becuase they preach so much against violence towards other men. Strangely, but my JW father (who was a draft dodger before it was cool - Korean War becuase he beleived in non-violence and a pioneer of many years) actually loved guns & knives & war movies. He even made his own knives and knife handles. My JW father could be violent towards his own family, and had the book study removed from our house becuase he once went for a gun. If he felt cornered with no way out, he wanted back-up. He once was beat up in field service, and used a weapon. He'd sit for hours in front of the TV, watching war movies. Other JW men I knew had guns too, but always said they were for "hunting." Well, I knew one teenaged boy who kept a gun in the glovebox of his truck. He'd brandished it at other drivers if they made him mad. He was an elder's son. But, his mother & father thought he was so sweet I also knew an elderly sister who loved guns and was a sharp shooter in her day.

Jonanthan Holt was also into child pornography. His victim had childish qualities to her face. Geesh! Know wonder the Watchtower Society keeps writing letters to elders, pedophile cases abound, etc.

It seems like Jonathan Holt was an extreme, typical "cocky" JW male, with a double life, if you ask me. The most extreme people end up in the most funadmental groups. Or, is it the fundamental groups that cause one to become extreme! Who knows. Did the fundy come before the nutcase, or did the nutcase come before the fundy? LOL.

Does the reporter know of the recent letters from mother to the elders on pornography, how to handle crimes, and the elder's new duty of figuring out who is a true pervert? The reporter needs to get into the Kingdom Hall & Bethel's files. The elders probably have an inch thick file on this turd. But, yeah, the elders ain't gonna talk. If they do, they are going to tell alot of white lies to get away from Holt. And, JWs & elders speak a whole different language then worldly reporter. Words they say will not "catch meaning" in the reporter's mind. It's so easy to completely white-wash a reporter or worldly into thinking that nothing's wrong, all while the cult's "loaded laguage" goes right over the reporter's head. Blondie on this site is probably one of the best for deciphering cult speak. There are alot who are willing to help out.

Sorry, don't know Holt. We are mainly shunned people. If we can get someone from the area, then you have a chance. Flipper is out West, I'll PM him to look at this thread. Since he gathers ex-Dubs for picnics, perhaps he know.

There is one way to find people who knew him, go undercover. Show up at the Kingdom Hall with a Bible, Watchtower, etc. Say you are from another town, or grew up in the Truth (in another town) and wanted to get back. In a few months, you'll know alot. Posters Blondie or Atlantis usually knows what is being studied. Drive a different car to the Kingdom Hall. The elders will probably follow you for a little bit, to make sure you are legit. So, don't drive to and from your house. They will probably go through your mailbox and sit outside where you live. If you can fake a double life, you'll get into the group. And if you can donate $$$$$, they will accept you more readily.

I only have a report from someone it the know that Hold was "inactive." What does this mean? Who knows!

Could mean he was an active JW at one time and missed the Sunday meetings(s) before the killing?

Could mean that he was raised in the Truth, not baptised, and didn't attend often? But, that doesn't seem right given his age and those wedding pictures.

Could be theocratic lying at its finest.

what are the JW rules once baptised??

on my other post 'thinking of becoming a jw' people mentioned that once i was baptised i would be told / given rules of what i can / cant do, things like: how i act, dress, how i can have sex with my husband??

what i can and cant eat ( according to some research ive done).

i would be really interested to hear as many of these rules now - as i think its too late after one is baptised.. i would be grateful of as many as possible about anything any topic even thouse i havent mentioned.. thanks x.

Oh my! They invited you to their house and you feel the panic. If you become a JW, you will feel that panic and more in order to comply with the rules and expectations. You are feeling the pressure to comply, now? Just wait. It will be 10-fold once you are a JW.

If you tell them that you are not interested, they will put some pressure on you. But, if you use the magic words "Do not call on my house ever again to speak of religion. I am not interested in your religion." THey will likely let up. The touchstone with them is that, by calling on you, they are getting brownie points in the Kingdom Hall and before their peers. It's very hard these days to get newly intested converts, and they are under pressure to get you. You are simply a target for their social gain. They are likely not interested in you as a person. With JWs, their relationship with you is purely conditional. Very few will start a truly open relationshp with a worldly person.

My JW sibling (who is much older) has a non-JW friend of many years (same gender, no not gay). They are both in the travel industry and single. They get free tickets & very reduced hotels to fantastic destinations. They go on trips together, but my JW sibling doesn't DARE tell any other JWS that the trip is with a non-JW! JWs are not supposed to really socialize like that with non-JWs.

i live nowhere near the east coast, nor does my jw mother in law.

but according to my wife, mommy dearest thinks "sandy" is the latest sign that gawd almighty is about to bring about the end.. so i ask my lovely jw wife what she thinks, amazingly she says its probably just another storm, though it does look bad.

i tell her yes, i agree, and if there is anything we can do to help out, i am willing to help.
