  this is a terrible story, as i believe from other reports that places like this were common in the usa.

  (as well as, the uk, ireland, canada, australia and god knows where else).you can only wonder how no-one else in authority knew about this.

  Wow, very sad to read this story and to think of these terrible bastards who ran this place.

  I never knew of this. I have been to Marianna, Florida a few times in my life. Beautiful land, a neat old town.

  okay so i think it might be the concussion making me go on this rant...not too sure.. the girl scouts started selling their cookies yesterday and for the first time in my life i will be ordering cookies.....i mean wtf is so wrong with ordering cookies from them?

  i love the thin mint's and guess what?

  you can only buy them from girl scouts!!!!!!.

  Loving sister passed away and guess what and elder said...?

  the cycle continues.... two weeks ago a loving and fragile sister passed away due to her age and chronic health, she only had one son and 2 grandsons.

  (she was the only jw in her family)when my wife gave me the sad news we immediately went over to the hospital to give some words of comfort to the grieving family.. .

  what happened next was another cruel example of works for salvation vs. good deeds from love.

  Maybe the elder really wanted to go out in service so he could spend a half hour at service meeting, driving to community, walking slowly from house to house to get to 10 houses (none of whom were at home), and then get an hour at Dunkin Donuts with a cup of hot coffee, sweet donut and an even hotter, sweeter sister. That sounds easier then talking for a half hour straight with grieving relatives.

  "never was"? Everyone who is a JW is obsessed with hours. Usually, it's the appearance of having hours.

  My wife just told me to move out...

  because of "religious" differences, she now wants me to move out and "separate"...i said what biblical grounds does she have for her request?.

  she couldnt respond...she said she'd rather be beaten up by me than have an "apostate" in the house.... this org definitely encourages conditional love.... i don't know what to do...by the way, we dont have children.

  I agree with Big Mac. Separate.

  Go get 50% of your joint checking and savings account and put it in a separate account. Put your money you earn in your own checking account from now on. JW women will take 100% of your checking account, lie in court to try to get alimony, etc.

  I think it's best to leave the marriage home. WHy? Too many memories in that house. Let her sit in there and rot with the memories. You get a new place, new furnitur, new decorations, etc.

  Then, you tell her that if she wants to divorce you that she has to wait a few months anyhow for the court paperwork to go through. Tell her to not get hooked up too fast with another JW man. She knows. Scare her with the fact that many are wife beaters, and child molestors; and the brothers wll not tell her beforehand.

  Tell her that if she really gets a divorce, that you will not be waiting around for her.

  REally scare her into thinking that she's going to lose you. Cuz, right now she's using you and your fears to try to get what she wants (which is to hurt you and honor Jehovah).

  When some of the old time JW's time is up i wonder what they think in their private moments.

  we had an old time jw pass away recently he lived his entire life lie the new system was going to be here tomorrow.. he was a gillard grad and went on to be missionry in west africa.. came back home when wife got pregent(they eventuly had 3 children) ,sold everything pre 75 to see the system out and pioneer then had to work his butt off to rebuild his finances and put a roof over his familys head.. he retired and became a co till his wifes health could no longer alow it.. he got a treminal illness and i wonder in his quiter moments did he think ....".ive lived my entire life for a dream that never came true".

  he's only one of many i see,their lives comming to an end and the new system is no closer than it was when they started.. .

  I know two old JWs, one dead and one alive.

  The one who died got very depressed during her last few years. in and out of mental hospitals, addicted to prescription drugs, and kept the house dark. I think she didn't want to see her reflection in the mirror as she was now looking elderly. A little before her death, she asked a family member who was talking to her about the JWs, "What if it's all a lie?" Then, she recanted and shut up. It was a peak into her doubting.

  THe other, is a happy go lucky, waiting on Armegheddon and dreams of Paradise. Once told me that it would come in a few years, and then immediately said that I would see it in my lifetime. He absolutely admits that he can not handle any critical information on the WTS. Even if it's just all WTS quotes on Generation, he can't handle seeing it. In some respect, it's the ostrich head in the sand routine. He admits that the WTS is not always right and is aghast at the rules that permitted pedophilia. For that moment, his head was out of the sand.

  So, there you have it.
