After reading these posts, the worst thing I did was "Clean the Bathroom" on duty day. I should have worn gloves.
The second worst thing I did was to put money in the donation box.

whats the worst thing youve done during a meeting?
years ago, when i was a bit more wicked/naughty/younger than i am now, i thought i would take some drugs just prior to the meeting to see if it would make things any more interesting.
it didnt, but at least i enjoyed the kingdom melodies tapping my foot to the beat and bopping my head!!

my husband and i were both raised and baptized as jehovah's witnesses.
my husband was an elder for over 15 years.
during those years when he was an elder, our eyes began to be opened to what was going on behind the scenes, that their organization was more political than biblical.
Hopie,
Bless you for writing your story in a book. It will help many people for years to come.

ok, so we've talked before about music which was not permitted in our families, leaving us to listen to .... what?
most people in my congregation generally approved of olivia newton-john, but became suspicious of her work after grease, when she bacame a "bad" girl.
one song "landslide" contained the lines "minor desires became major needs, my needs won't be denied", which was taken as proof that she had gone over to the "dark side".

i've been thinking a lot about this lately and i would unhesitatingly say 'yes!'.
we've had our ups and downs - almost always my fault .
my god, how our upbringing can affect us!

Sir Nose,
We'll have to go to an Earth Wind & Fire concert. Do they still play?
I don't count anything against you for singing the 80's too. Just, I hope you're not singing "Material Girl" or "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". I must admit to singing Culture Club/Boy George songs like "Karma Chameleon", "Do you really want to hurt me", and, of course the BORG song "Church of the Poisoned Mind".
Don't forget the greatest Hall & Oats song ever (made for Paris Hilton, though written years before she was ever conceived)...."Rich Girl"....for those of you not from this era....the song goes like this..."You're a rich girl, and you've gone too far 'cause you know it don't matter anyway...You can rely on the old man's money, You can rely on the old man's money. It's a bi*** girl but it's gone too far 'cause you know it don't matter anyway"

not sure if this was posted already:.
starting oct 16- nov 12 there will be a special distribution of kingdom news #37 "the end of false religion is near".
don't understand the dates of this distribution.
When I was on the inside, I thought the other religions were BAD. Now, that I'm on the outside, I see the WTS as BAD.
The pot is calling the kettle black....

he also criticized the beliefs of jehovah's witnesses, saying they put people at risk by denying them potentially life-saving treatment.
