Has it been almost 7 years since the last "official" Watchtower article on blood?
Did I miss it? Why the long wait?

Help, I am looking for any and all WTS quotes on doctors being used by Satan when recommending blood.
i am looking for rebuttals on this statement.
i find it reprehensive when they preach this from the platform, they do not want jws (who are individuals) to have any individuality.
they want people to be their personal robots with no free will.
so i have been doing stand up and i want to talk about being a jw in my act.
im trying to write a few rants to talk about.
so far i have beards, holidays, the oddities of the memorial, childhood baptism vs marriage.
Here's a monologue written on the fly by me. Would I be good at standup?
I was watching daytime television, and these peopell were complaining about their childhood and parents. (Whinny voice: Daddy didn't buy me a car, or mommy wanted us kids in by one a.m in the morning. Daddy made me go to his college.") Geez. Geez, I thank my lucky stars I'm a complete, competant and happy person. it's a wonder I'm not more screwed up in my head. I am soo thankful for my sanity. I truly am. (pause) You see, I was born and raised a Jehovah's Witness!
Yes folks. Michael Jackson & I were both raised in the Jehovah's Witnesses. Michael Jackson is my benchmark of sanity. I'm doing better then him, so I must be sane. But, I understand Brother Michael. I do. We are very much soul mates.
Like Michael, there was no Christmas for this Jehovah's Witness. My parents went to teacher conferences, not for my grades, but to make sure I didn't color a Christmas tree or sing anyone Happy Birthday. Oh my, if I did so, God would have STRUCK ME DOWN with a huge boulder at Armegheddon. There were pictures of what's going to happen to all you "worldly" people who celebrated evil holiday. It said so in the Watchtower. And, there were PICTURES of God's destruction. I'm sure Hollywood Directors use the Watchtower's artwork for their end-of-world movie scenes. Accept a Watchtower just so you can enjoy the artwork. A picture is worth a thousand words into the mindset of the Jehovah's Witness.
Speaking of Christmas, you have to come by and see my house at Christmas. I'm making up for lost time, and if God's going to smite me down . . . damn it, He's going to know where I live. My house is Neverland East, shining a beacon into the Heavens. All you people who had Christmas as a kid, don't appreciate it now. I'm wearing my Santa Hat, jingle bells on my sneakers, wreath on my car, and telling everyone "Merry Christmas." You think I'm a freak. But, you have to understand, I had NO Christms. Yes, I love Christmas
and like Michael, I love animals. That's the hook that the Jehovah's Witnesses use to entice children and dreamers into the religion. Animals. You see, if you put up with all the bullshit of the relgiion's rules (do a laundry list like an auctioner would . . .. no beards, long hair, tatoos, 2 car doors, dating for marraige only, always wear a jacket if man, skirt to the knees if woman, no voting, no military, no saluting the flag, no college, no honor society, can't play on any high school team, can't be a cheerleader . . . and don't forget the big rule, no blood transfusions, .,,...) Yes, folks, if you can put up with all the bullshit rules . . . . then Jehovah is going to allow you to pet ANY lion, bear, tiger, or other animal. God is going to magically turn off their fangs, teeth, claws, or venom so you will never get hurt. Yes, it said so in the Watchtower and the Watchtower had PICTURES. That's why Michael had his zoo. It wasn't purely to entice young boys. Michael had to have been out there trying to pet a lion in his backyard. I just know it.
.......
You know, if you could pull off a Chris Rock satyrical rant - you could tie the JW craziness to other radical religions. You could roast religions with a JW twist - like Bill Myer (whatever his name).
(It's how you deliver the lines. Act a little crazed).
about a month ago, i wrote a post about a sister that keeps coming to my apartment giving me watchtowers.
i called her an older sister.
she is in her late 50's.
Mr. Quick has a great life philosophy.
i have only 3 jw relatives.
they are fun to watch.
i just observe them now, and never make comment on jw things.
JW2 blames JW3's worldly spouse for keeping JW3 away from meetings. JW2 secretly can't wait for JW3's spouse to die?
My version . . . .I think the JW parents put alot of guilt into JW3's mind from young childhood. Guilt is a powerful tool. So, when the guilt gets too much, then JW3 will find it convenient to go to the meetings. Or, when JW2 (or those "Friends) hounds JW3 too much, then it's easier for JW3 to go to the meeting . .. . . rather then saying, "I didn't go."
Remember, guilt is a powerful tool. And, a JW upbringin means that one is guilty for everything. For example, JW3 was offered a huge promotion becuase of a great job done and passing a little extra credential test. But, JW3 was "guilty" for several weeks agonizing if the promotion/raise was "worth it." With guilt, comes low self-esteem. JW3 continuously would accept much too low of pay if job-hunting. It's a way of absolving guilt . . . to be self-deprivation.
And, to add to all of this . . . JW3 isn't one to investigate outside of the JW religion. JW3 hasn't made the step of questioning the JW version of the afterlife. It would separate JW3 from her parents' "goodness". JW3 can't make the step that mom & dad were truly nuts. JW3 will admit their immaturity, not right in the head, etc . . . but thinks the JW religion "saved' them from their insanity.....when it aided it.

Since FlyingHighNow put up Fleetwood Mac, I put up a song from Willie Nelson. You know, you can learn alot about life from a country song, especially a Willie Nelson / Waylon Jennings song. This is one of my favorites.
Skeeter http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4GZZrhZdH-c (Can someone please post a link) "A Couple More Years" (Shel Silverstein - Dennis Locorriere) Send "A Couple More Years" Ringtone to your Cell
I've got a couple more years on you baby that's all
I've had more chances to fly and more places to fall
That's not that I'm wiser it's just that I've spent
More time with my back to the wall.
And I've picked up a couple more years on you baby that's all
I've walked a couple more roads than you baby that's all
And I'm tired of running while you're only learning to crawl
And you're going somewhere but I've been to somewhere
And found it was nowhere at all.
And I've picked up a couple more years on you baby that's all.
Saying goodbye girl don't ever come easy at all
But you've got to fly cause you're hearin' them young eagles call
Someday when you're older you'll smile at a man strong and tall
And say I've got a couple more years on you baby that's all.
You'll say I've got a couple more years on you baby that's all
I've had more chances to fly and more places to fall
That's not that I'm wiser it's just that I've spent
More time with my back to the wall...
what is the deal with people criticizing jws because they don't celebrate birthdays or christmas?.
it is as if when someone is born, from a baby, to a child, teen, adult; that one has a responsiblity to celebrate christmas (and i thought it was a free country); and others have a responsiblity to celebrate others' anniversary of one's birth.. i don't get the criticisms as if celebrating either is a great thing and the not celebrating is a bad thing.. data on star trek said that he does not understand why people celebrate their birthdays - a day one can not possibly remember.. what are you actually celebrating?
the fact that you made it another year?
The Bible doesn't condemn birthdays. The Bible repeatedly "keeps track" of people's ages.
"One indeed judges a day above another day; and another one judges every day alike. Let each one be fully assured in his own mind. The one minding the day, he minds it to the Lord. And the one not minding the day, he does not mind it to the Lord. The one eating, he eats to the Lord; for he gives thanks to God. And the one not eating, he does not eat to the Lord, and gives thanks to God." (Rom 14:5-6)
Job celebrated birthdays. Job 1:4
The deaths that did occur at a birthday party were not becuase of the birthday party. The party was the venue, not the cause. In fact, Jehovah predicted the deaths would occur.
"Regarding Pharaoh's birthday, there is nothing explicit linking birthday celebrations in general to "cruel acts." Naturally, occasions for celebration can provide an outlet for excessive or immoral acts. But in this case the "cruel acts" against the chief cupbearers and the chief of the bakers were in fulfillment of the dreams interpreted by Joseph. It is similar with Herod's birthday celebration. The account in Matthew does not say that John was beheaded because of Herod's birthday celebration. Rather, he was beheaded because of the request of Herodias and her daughter, and Herod's oath to her. Indeed, there is nothing in Matthew's account that explicitly states that John's head was brought to the birthday celebration at all. It only says that his head was "given to the maiden, and she brought it to her mother" (Matthew 14:11). The presentation may have occurred at the celebration, but as with the account in Genesis 40 there is nothing tying such an act to birthdays in general." ." ( Greg Stafford, Three Dissertations on the Teachings of Jehovah's Witnesses, pp. 208-209 ).
And, the simple fact is that EVERY parent keeps track of fond rememberence of the day their child was born.
And, the more pungent fact that my JW RELATIVES all send birthday presents and expect birthday presents (and 'Holiday') presents. LOL.
i'm doing the happy dance!
