Not certain about "best" (subjective), but an outstanding actor is/was Robin Williams.

Why vote third party??
Because, like you, I live in a Democrat state. Voting third party is a way to have a "protest vote."
However, because of the uproar regarding the electoral college vs. the popular vote in 2016, I'll not vote third party this year.

If one had a chronic situation, it was suggested that they’d get better quicker at home (my BIL).
The largest physical problem I had while at Brooklyn (early 1980s) was due to a dropped piece of steel squashing my toe.
There was pressure building up under the nail and the doctor (who was a psychiatrist but performing as a GP) heated a unfolded paperclip and pierced the nail to relieve the pressure. We knew he had made it through the nail because when the very hot paperclip hit the very sensitive skin under the nail … I screamed.
He was a good guy and actually introduced me to diazepam (Valium) for “stress.” Perhaps he was more “liberal” than others.
Anyone remember his name? He had a family with him there as well.

They Are Already Talking About Impeaching Trump Again!
by minimus inbecause he voiced his opinion on roger stone’s recommended sentencing as being grossly unfair, the democrats are talking about impeachment.. do they really think that impeaching him will mean that a democrat will get into the white house??.

We have this thing in the US called the Electoral College. It dates back to the time when only land-owners could vote and giving sparsely populated States more rights.
You may enjoy reading exactly why we have the electoral college (actually brilliant) in the book Summer of 1787
Folks who rail against the electoral college often don't seem to understand it much deeper than a bumper sticker or sound bite they heard on MSNBC.
It is the height of simplistic thinking to think a straight "one person, one vote" approach is good at the national level. It was employed to address the same (but not identical) issues, then and now.
Besides, if the popular vote was all that was necessary we'd have Hillary Clinton in the White House. Certainly you wouldn't want that.....no matter how much you hate The Orange One.

Great book. Surprise tie-into the JWs in Chapter 8 and in Chapter 9.
I've read a few of these "exit" type books.
This is one of the better-told tales and, again, has an integral tie-in to the JWs.
Recommend it.

What’s Your Opinion of Adam Schiff?
by minimus ini’ve heard some people praise him for his zeal against president trump.
others have not been so praiseworthy toward the california congressman.. today he was so concerned that trump might be so emboldened now that he has won acquittal, that he suggests that trump might make a deal with russia and sell them the state of alaska.
😐.

The same loyalty that JWs feel to the GB is the same that the right feels to trump. I think that should get people to stop and think, why is this the case?
This may be partially accurate (who really knows?) but there are a fair number of folks with whom I interact who are not necessarily pro-Trump but ARE anti-Schiff and his team. If there are two choices, they veer Orange.
If you're looking for cult-like adulation of a political leader, look no further than those who elevated Obama to god-like status because he was half-black. In those days, if you legitimately asked a question about Obama's policies, you were a racist ...end of story
Most I hear (not on TV), qualify their acceptance of The Orange One.

Pat Robertson using the Bible to justify horrible actions
by RULES & REGULATIONS inhere comes old and senile pat robertson speaking on his television program, the 700 club.
robertson went on a rant (when asked by an audience member) on his thoughts about the death penalty.. robertson said:.
are you kidding?

Agreed that cost should NOT be a variable in a decision of this type.
"It is more expensive to care for a lifer in prison than an execution."
Simple googling will show this to be inaccurate. Studies vary, but the anecdotal "think of the medical costs, etc." doesn't defeat actual numbers. That executions cost more is widely know by all sides.
Just one of MANY articles reporting on the actual studies (not anecdotes) that have looked at the issue.

There is also an economic argument. Generally speaking, due to mandatory appeals, etc., it is less expensive to have a prisoner serve a life sentence.
The death personalty is too expensive.

Rec'd a letter from my Dad - need some advice...
by Fadeaway3pointer infader here - last meeting was in autumn 2005. lurker on this site and others.
not one to get all controversial.. typical situation, pretty much a born in and left the church at age 38 and never looked back.. i'm 53 now, parents getting older - late 70s but very active, dad is still an elder.. parents, in laws, brother and brother-in-law still uber active jws.. my family (wife and 2 adult children) out since 2005.. we have stayed close to our parents - we have treaded religion lightly and have had a pretty good relationship and have kept our personal lives and beliefs/opinions separated from them.
this was intentional - as we love them and do not want anything to cause shunning since they are getting older and want to be there for them and we respect their beliefs.. got this letter today.

Very sorry you're in this situation.
Time is going to have to pass but, as you're aware, there is no 'happy ending' to this tale.
Again, very sorry you and your family have to deal with this.
