Listening to a religious leader who said- 'If you have greater love for father, mother, brothers and sisters than me you are not worthy of me'.
They take that out of context I think. Jesus was a rebel and he was breaking tradition. If you love the way things are more than you love the way they should be then take your leave and don't follow me. If you choose to follow me, be prepared to buck the system.

The only difference is now the world is connected. 500 years ago if an major earthquake hit San Fran--the only people who would have know was-----well nobody. I would imagine they didn't live to tell.

Being "born in" throws a monkey wrench in the works, huh?
Yep, being born into that crap is my only regret. I do regret that I let my mind be held captive and walked around for 10 years thinking I was dead. I'm not dead yet! That's always a plus.

Going out with a collective bang?
by slimboyfat ini've been thinking recently that i should just disassociate from the jws and be done with it.
i've been straggling along for over ten years now without believing it so it's probably about time i made a clean break and moved on.. but i really detest the fact that the announcement at the kingdom hall no longer makes any distinction between those who are disfellowshipped and those who disassociate themselves.
what a sleekit way for the organization to disguise the fact that many people choose to leave of their own accord rather than being thrown out for supposed wrongdoing.
