Yea, I saw this. How many times have they been caught now? They just give a lame excuse and move on. What is wrong with people who continue to watch and defend them???

"Religion...is the Opium of the People" - What did Marx Mean?
by cofty inwhen read in context karl marx was not directly attacking religion when he wrote those famous words.. .
religious distress is at the same time the expression of real distress and the protest against real distress.
religion is the sigh of the oppressed creature, the heart of a heartless world, just as it is the spirit of a spiritless situation.

Sorry PSac, in my own personal experience with christians (which is pretty extensive) I have found few who don't have the superiority complex. Look at your own post. You juxtapose glowing motivations and accomplishments of christians, with extreme negative examples of supposed atheists. Lol and no mention at all of other religions.

Considering the current hoopla, I found this rather interesting.
Friday's data confirmed a pick-up in manufacturing and a brighter job outlook for factory workers after a long, bleak stretch since the Great Recession began. Manufacturers added 33,000 more jobs than they cut in February. That brought the total net gains to 195,000 in a little over a year.
The construction industry hired back 33,000 jobless workers in February, after a drop of 22,000 during storm-battered January. Transportation and warehouse jobs rose by 22,000. Health care continued hiring, adding 34,000 jobs last month. Over the past year, some 260,000 new health care jobs have been created, roughly 22,000 jobs a month.
If you're looking for a job with state and local government — think teachers, police officers, sanitation workers, etc. — your prospects continue to worsen. Budget cuts eliminated another 30,000 state and local government jobs in February. Since peaking in Sept., 2008, local governments have cut 377,000 more jobs than they created.

It's not like you get an auto degree if you are black.
No, - you have to be a black football player.
Now it's more accurate.

I finally read the OP fully. What a loser. First off all four of my kids won scholarships for thier performance. All white by the way, 2 boys and 2 girls. Second, this guy has a GI Bill if he was in Iraq. Third, he looks like a straight up racist crook. Arrested twice, and he can't think of a better way to concern himself with college scholarships than to worry about minorities? So he's trying to appeal to other racists to contribute to his white boy scholarship site.
Just because there may be financial aid and scholarships doesn't mean they don't have to do the work. It's not like you get an auto degree if you are black.
There is a disparity in this country in the number of college graduates, prison population, and poverty among minorities. Affirmative action, or UNCF type programs are there to address that disparity. For the good of ALL of us.

But Nickolas just as Grey Owl is now being appreciated as he was unfairly maligned, there are those who were given undeserved recognition and are subsequently...................brought down from their pedestal. Mother Teresa and Ronald Reagan being two perfect examples.

Just saying I got the impression it wasn't about aging or natural changes, it was about things within his control and just becoming careless.

Hmmm that makes me think of the euphoria aspect of the drug opium. Religion also makes people feel superior to others. They know better.

Religion in general, though comes from a completely different place in the psyche of humanity.
Prehistoric cave paintings were religious in nature. They worshipped what they ate. In oppressive civilizations you worship what eats you, if you catch my drift. In the case of Christianity, it deadens you to the pain of being 'eaten'. Christianity is indeed an anaesthetic.
The religious impulse is simply a way to organize the world in the mind of the believer so that things make sense. That doesn't necessarily mean that the religion is rational but that the psyche, ego or whatever you call it, needs a framework of ideas to give the world meaning. It is basically a narrative, a story of stories, that we learn and recite to ourselves, whenever something perplexing needs explanation.
In it's original, uncorrupted form it's simply a way of making sense of life and the world.
True, but as soon as a society includes a ruling class, it needs a tool to rule. Religion works so well. Look at America today. "Family values" and jesus have managed to make a big chunk of the country work against thier own best interests.

Oh come on girls, there's a difference between a "pretty boy" and a green toothed slob.
