Curiosity. What I'm getting at is - I would like to know more details of individuals who have been shooed out of Bethel, especially the older ones who know no other life, and how they are coping with it. What are their new congregations being asked to do by way of assistance? Food, clothing, medical, shelter? Maybe a job with a brothers janitorial service?
I don't wish them any ill, I really feel empathy for them. But I think it will be very revealing to see just how much "love" the WTS is willing to show in a practical way for these people they don't need anymore.
Anyone out there close to one of these cases?

Is it me, or is this as tacky as it comes?
by Icansaylucky inthis week there was a obituary of an elder i knew when i was a witty.
he had several children and a wife.
the obit didn't say anything accept: "so and so died after a lengthy illness, he was member of the jehovah's witnesses.

Tacky, tacky, tacky.
But not as tacky as the actual funeral/memorial talk. This is a subject that gets discussed a lot on this site, but it is jaw-dropping tacky. I have been to these where there were non JW family members who came a considerable distance out of respect for the deceased relative, only to set through a Watchtower Society Infomercial with the loved ones name mispronounced, no mention of family or personal comments about the persons life. "Our dear Brother John Smith passed away on the 12th of this month at age 65. John had the strong hope that he could look forward to...blah blah blah" and that was the last you heard about ol' John.

The last time I brought up this topic it was extinguished by someone on the board of lords.
Hell yes, there was. Committee meetings with people suffering from what I now know was a common mental disorder, OCD. It was really disrupting their lives (things like having to turn the lights on and off over a hundred times before they could leave a room.) and all we had to offer was to encourage them to pray. Then there were the various "anointed". One elder, of the 144K class, was absolutely one of the strangest people I have ever known. Among other things he could not handle the frequent winter extended periods of fog and would leave town to go up in the mountains until it cleared. He was a GB groupie and was constantly corresponding with NY on various matters of inspired knowwledge. he is also the uncle of the 20 year old who tried to seduce our 12 yr old daughter and called a special elders meeting when I took it to the police. Another partaker firebombed several local churches one night and ended up in the state hospital for the criminally insane.
Is it fair to refer to wives of unbelievers who beat and abused them horribly but would not leave because they didn't have the famous "scriptural grounds" as being mentally unstable?

Lady Lee, I'm impressed!
I have rewired a lamp without unplugging it! my wife keeps asking me if my life insurance is paid up.
Ham. The mister with the fans is very smart.

Funny how we put up with various little things around the house that needed fixing for weeks or months then when we put the house up for sale I run around and fix everything! a little paint, a little plumbing, a little electrical, a little carpentry and a lot of yard work.

Were you a bathroom breaker?
by Mysterious ini swear my mother used to keep better track of my bladder than i did.
she'd sit me down occasionally for talks such as "i noticed you've been going to the bathroom a lot during the meetings lately maybe we need to cut down on what you drink on meeting nights" etc.
others would go 2 or 3 times a meeting and if i went twice a week i'd get a talk about it!

Poor little bored, restless kids breaking the monotony with a trip to the bathroom and a quick sip at the drinking fountain. I did it. I walked very slowly, took my time to wash my hands, etc. I remember feeling claustrophobic when I was small and couldn't see anything but the back of the seat in front of me.
Of course, as an adult, and an elder to boot, I found a better way to escape that seat - does anyone remember the servants, elders and MS, loitering in the back of the hall during the meeting? I remember a couple of guys who would lean against the literature counter, wander over to the information board (we were told not to call it a 'bulletin' board because of some origin of the word in false religion). Anyway, it got to the point that there were always 3 or 4 servants standing in the back. I was frequently one of them. Somebody brought it up in an elders meeting and it stopped for a time.

I hope everyone is sitting down.
I write and eat with my left hand. I cannot do either right handed.
I use tools- hammer, saw, screwdriver, etc. skillfully with either hand. (Comes in handy)
Sports are strictly right handed, golf, tennis, pool, throwing. I have tried left hand golf clubs. No way.
If anyone wants to contact me regarding a book deal with a retainer or a clinical study in a foriegn city with a reasonable per diem, please PM me.

I'm not sure I've got the picture. It sounds like you are living with a bf (boyfriend)? Isn't that a little more risky than lying about meeting attendance? Sorry if I missed something.
