To answer the topic question - In my opinion, it's not an "idea" to kill or die for ones country. This implies someone is author or inventor of war. The fact is that humans instinctively defend themselves, their families, their territory, their way of life, in other words, their country in response to aggresion by those humans who want to control and 'own' them. If you talk to the loved ones of those who have died in wars most will say they are proud of that person and they understand the context that death. When wars of political maneuvering that have no clear purpose in self defense (Vietnam) we start to see protests by those who naively conclude that ALL war is unecessary. These people are well suited to become someones slave.

it would be quite easy, with a bit of imagination, for them to simply adopt an interpretation of scripture similar to the seventh day adventists belief about 1843. the sda's teach that since 1843 jesus has been engaged in an 'investigative judgment' upon christendom, having entered into the 'inner sanctuary' of heaven (or something to that effect) on that date to receive special authority to do that.

jesus since then has used the sda's as his favoured group of christians.

Do the FDS use Spiritism to contact the '24 Elders' and the 144000?

the watchtower has always, in its publications, talks etc warned against contact with spirit creatures!.

jws are notoriously terrified of anything that might even remotely be to do with spiritism.. however, i find it totally bizarre that they can accept 'spirit guidance from the 24 elders' as an explanation to how the holy spirit guides the fds!.

i would, in simple terms call this a form of spiritism.

Apology to all

this is an apology to all for my recent posts, i did'nt mean to upset anyone .

just coping with leaving the org ,and the past ,and trying to support my wife who, as some know from my prevoius posts has tried to deal with her pedophile elder(past) father for many years now thru the org ,and then being badly treated by them and her large extended family (most are witnesses and are trying to silence her), made me hit rock bottom.

we are now taking action via the police and court system and she is barely coping ,and me being bi-polar does'nt help matters much and i fell into to an unreal state for a while as we don't have much support of any kind.

Rabbit - As you probably know, religous fixations are a common element of manic episodes. This is true even for those who have never had any involvement with religion previously. This makes JW kids even more vulnerable. (Speaking from our own personal experiences with a young adult child with Bi-polar disorder.)

Imagine 'ol Nathan "Gee, I hope we're right about 1914, we bet the farm on it" H. Knorr right about now. Good thing he was long dead by 1995. He would have been real pissed at ol' Fred. Imagine a conversation about this if they were alive in the early 90's. The scene opens in Knorrs office. He has summoned Fred Franz, who is setting in front of his desk.

NHK: What the fuck, Fred? We're running out of time here! People BORN in 1914 are almost 80 years old! Let alone those that were 12. They're over 90, fer Chrissake! We've already stretched this thing to the breaking point. Now what?

No school again today

for the second day in a row, the schools are closed because of the snow.

very strange for november.. it is collllddddd today and the roads are solid ice after the bit of a thaw yesterday.

another big snowstorm hit last evening.

You did the right thing twice, once when you decided to leave, (you have enough on your plate without getting into pointless and frustrating chat on here.) and again when you chilled out and came back (everybody needs a little pointless, frustrating chat in their life.)

Sounds like maybe your wife is having the same thoughts as you, including not wanting to open up to the other party. The solution, of course, is open communication. Try laying your cards on the table and if she starts to look at you like a bug just say "hey, I was only kidding!"
