what a revelation!
by solo inthis is my first post and what a revelation this site has been to me (excuse the pun) if only this had been available when i walked away from the "truth" in 1987, it would have made life a lot more bearable for me.. i was brought up a jw and was baptized at 14 because i thought it was the right thing to do, endured a very strict upbringing combined with the dreadful routines of worship, study and door knocking.
we were deprived of any enjoyment (tv, friends, outings, fun, etc).
education was a bit of a disruption, having moved to where the need was greater our schooling was interrupted so many times we never made any friends.

I AM SUCH A KLUTZ! Hello!
by Geronimo ini've been lurking here and reading for a couple of months now.
i was also a jw for a few years but got myself dfed when i started asking difficult questions, wouldn't stop asking them, and kept pointing out how the wts didn't make any sense.
i am an unrepentent rebellious one who was warned and publically reproved until finally i finally had it out with the elders and they showed me the door.

has anyone been taken out of their parents and/or relatives 'will' because of leaving the jw's?.

I was omitted from my parents will. Not that they were wealthy, but just the principle.
I now have excluded my daughters who have shunned me for 26 years from my will.

CATHOLIC TO JW..........POPE TO GB..............WHY ??????
by vitty inwhy do so many catholics become jws ?
i know a lot of them were not very strong or practicing catholics but the wt does seem to draw them, especially when they are so critical of them and the pope.
you would think it would put them off.. is it because the are so different or the same???????????.

Catholics make up the majority of Christianity. So it only stands to reason that there would be more converts from them than other religions. There are more catholics than most other religions put together.

The twisted words of the bible and jehovah is jesus
by sinis ini've been reading a few articles on the subject of jehovah being jesus in the new testament, which makes perfect sense.
as i don't believe the bible is the word of god (or has been severely altered by man), i do believe there may be some small shreds of truth.
could it be that yahweh in the ot is jesus of the nt?

I to believe Jehovah of the old testament is Jesus of the new testament. All the Mosaic laws were done away with and were fulfilled in Jesus.

I was a far greater Bigot in the borg then I am now. I am still guided by moral principles that has nothing to do with any particular religion.
