  Do You Get Along with Your Adult Children Well ?

  old i get along great with.

  he's easy to be around.

  I have a good relationship with my two sons non JW but I have three daughters that are so-so dubs that I do not have any contact with, by their choice.

  Is it just me, or does this new site style seemed cluttered?

  i allready miss the style of the old jwd.. .

  it seems like there are way more ads here, and the thread lists .

  and trees seem cluttered and hard to scan.. .

  Terminology: Congregation vs. Unit

  does anyone remember when the "so and so" congregation was called the "so and so" unit?

  do you know the reasoning behind changing the terminology?

  I remember it the same as garybuss in the 40's and 50's congregations were all known as

  companies.

  wow, i've just seen my wife's copy of the jan 09 new format kingdom ministry.

  can they get any more controlling?.

  how to handle every part is detailed giving absolutely no room for any personal input or freedom to express any ideas other than copyrighted watchtower thinking.. .

  "They no longer attend meetings"

  word has got our that mr. and mrs. truthseeker no longer attend meetings.. we still live in the territory of our old congregation.

  instead of taking the time to call us and see how we're doing, the "friends" prefer to talk about us behind our backs, one of whom passed information to my wife's mother (who is a loyal witness) that we do not attend meetings.. just waiting for the ball to drop.. .

  First sober Christmas

  hi all.. i just want to post here about my first sober christmas.

  i posted here first of all about my alcoholism back in january.

  i tried to control drinking for around 3 years prior to this, but last december was a p**s up.

  Florida woman fired for saying Merry Christmas instead of Happy holidays!

  foxnews reports that a florida woman was fired for refusing to say: "happy holidays" she insisted that as a christian she use the term christmas.

  i have found others with the same view.

  though one witness sister was fired from a smallgoods company for refusing to say "merry christmas.

  Did You NOT Do Certain Things For People Because U Had To Get Your Time In?

  i knew many people that were in need of assistance within the congregation that never got helped because the "friends" were more focused on getting their field service time in as opposed to helping those within the "brotherhood".

  were you one of those ever in need that got ignored because the brothers and sisters were more involved in "theocratic" pursuits?.

  were you one of those that routinely ignored the needy because you had more important spiritual responsibilities to take care of?.

  I always put people first and am still reminded to-day how I always helped those in need. One sister who has since been df'd says I'm still a better elder then all the elders in her former cong.She knows even today she could call on me for help and I would be there for her.

  Recently she lost a JW brother 45 and an inactive sister 53 to cancer, very sad for her JW mom. I was there to comfort them at the funeral home while there was no sign of the elders there. They really appreciated my being there and realize I am still the same person I was when I was in.

  Hopefully it will open their eyes, and I know their mom is having some serious doubts because of the treatment they recieve from their local elders.

  as we say goodbye to jwd and our friends here, i wanted to start a memorial thread to remember some of the posters who made jwd a living entity.

  i hope everyone will participate in acknowledging others who made jwd so special.. .

  gopher seemed to be the st. peter of jwd.
