Where is the Passion now?
by sammielee24 injust a question.
many of us were passionate about the 'truth'.
our lives were the watchtower.

I must say that for the first forty years of my life I was a JW. I can honestly say I was not passionate about it. I have been out over 25 years now and I am far more passionate about the freedom I enjoy. I can make all my own decisions, example choose the government that I favor, go to any church I feel like, except a lifesaving blood transfusion, and live life the way I want. Seeing I have been out for over 25 years I am not financially strapped (not rich) as I have made choices in my life that has helped to provide for my wife and I. The time for people to get out is while they ars still young. I'm encouraged by the fact this seems to be the trend. I'm enjoying my senior years so much more than if I had stayed in. Good luck to all who are trying to leave no matter which route you choose.l

Question for JWs still on the "inside":
by Hellrider injust a question: if you are still jws (for any reason, many just can`t leave because their entire families are wrapped around it, etc), but don`t believe in it, and lead a "double life", how do you cope with going door to door?
i just can`t imagine how it must feel like to go out there and try to tell people at the doors or in the streets things you know are just bs!
how do you deal with that?

Hellrider.... That is an excellent question. I personally could not do it. Even for a fader it must be difficult. The points you make are very legitimate. Why would someone even want to leave the venomous magazines with any body.

Isolated & disconnected once outside
by enosant inis this a common issue for exjws?
or do you find it easy to just get on with it?
having lost all the jw friends, you find that you can't bring yourself to let others get too close, even pushing them away (old habbit dying hard).

I was raised a dub all my life. Shunned by parents, siblings and my own children. Parents went to their grave shunning. But I think it has a lot to do with our own personalities, and what we make out of certain situations. I am very outgoing and make friends quite easily. I feel I have more true friends now than I ever had as a JW. We must get involved in different interests. Someone mentioned helping others, this is probably the best way to overcome shyness and meet some very nice people in the process. Join book clubs, bowling teams, other church groups, or anything you might have an interest in. You are now in control without worrying about having to answer to anybody.Keep focused.
