HOW MANY THOUGHT THEY WOULD SURVIVE
by beezknees ini'm sure this will have been discussed before..but i am new here, so i was wondering how many of you when you where active jw's actually beleived you were going to survive armageddon.
i personally being brought up in the 'truth' used to lie in bed frightened of it coming or world events always thinking i was too bad a person to survive, and even as an adult i always felt i was never doing enough or good enough to be 'chosen' for survival when the end came u were always made to feel like you should be doing more as though you could earn your salvation.
i have talked to someone else who i know has left and they felt the same, i was wondering how many of you guys actually beleived you would make it through armageddon

The false pride of a "Window Washer"
by LDH inback when my sister and i were regular pioneers in the late 80's, there were many things that caught my ear.
i don't usually make an effort to remember them, but i did yesterday.. i was sitting at a red light yesterday.
i happened to look to the right and i saw a middle aged black man washing the windows at the strip mall......... ken and debbie mccarthy were two regular pioneers in our congregation.

Public nudity, illegal now, but what God wants of his perfect people!
by free2beme ini was driving down the road last summer, on a mountain highway that gets very little traffic.
i turned this corner and there was a couple, late 20's or maybe early 30's, walking down the road holding hands and completely nude.
while it was out of place, i could not help but remember that had the new system been real, and the witness teachings would have found fulfillment.

The hills have eyes
by Elsewhere ini went and saw this yesterday evening.
i normally don't like horror movies... i usually find them to be stupid because the "scary" moments are always just moments when the movie makes a loud noise while flashing a quick distorted image.
as i said before, i normally don't go see horror moves, but the previews for this one caught my attention so i thought i'd spend $5.50 on a matinee.. the movie did start out like i suspected... the victims first started making some spectacularly stupid decisions and then the "scary" parts were nothing but sudden loud noises accompanied by a distorted image that was flashed for a fraction of a second... but then it changed!

WTS: its real patrons
by greendawn indo you believe that the wts is being protected assisted and guided by demonic powers despite their claim that they are strictly associated only with god and his spirit?
i personally think it is not a coincidence that many things happen in their favour it is for example the demons that fight the "apostates" to prevent them from damaging the wts by exposing their wrong doing.
they also help blind and mislead ppl to enter this destructive cult.

What does Acts 15 mean, people "called by my name"? Help needed!

i am in discussion with someone and need an answer that would satisfy a thick skulled jw.. in the nwt it says .
(acts 15:15-18) 15 and with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written, 16 after these things i shall return and rebuild the booth of david that is fallen down; and i shall rebuild its ruins and erect it again, 17 in order that those who remain of the men may earnestly seek jehovah, together with people of all the nations, people who are called by my name, says jehovah, who is doing these things, 18 known from of old.

Joining Finally
by EAGLE-1 ini used to post in a forum much like this years ago.thought i would jump in this one.i have visited here several times and browsed your posts.i have enjoyed reading your posts and will be in here to read more and sometimes comment.looks like everyones said the usual jw stuff and my stories would be just more of what you all have been through or know of.it appears our histories are the same.now its time to make our own history.glad to be a part of this family in this forum.i really enjoy the great sense of humor many of you have.i have been laughing ever since i left the borg society.i tend to be satirical and i like to make people laugh.sometimes i can be damn right cold and mean but mostly to those that force their religious beliefs on others whether its crashing planes into buildings or 'placing ' magazines.they are all the same to me.simply- if it hurts it is wrong.thanks for allowing me this membership.hello to all my new brothers and sisters and i bet real love.
