How can we make good decisions, when we can't see into the future?

i mean really...i keep making bad decisions..that seem "right " in the short term...yet go bad in the long term.. how is it possible for anyone to make good decisions..or be perfect..when we don't know what the end result of the decision is going to be?.

how can you make a mistake when you know what the end result of every decision is going to be?

guess you would almost have to do it on purpose.

Hi Star!

Sorry I have been away so long...been trying to take some of the things you guys have shared with me and putting them into practice in my life to see if we are on the right track or not.

It has been a little rough..but things are starting to look up quite a bit now.

My current hope and plan is basically applying these things in making my decisions and hope they take my life to a quality that everyone else will want too, then if everyone wants to do "right"(whatever that may be), my children and yours will have a bright and happy future I am content with...and we can all get some rest and have some fun with no guilty feelings to hinder us from enjoying ourselves to the fullest.

I may not be the smartest person, or the best mechanic...but i see being the most persistant is a wide open position that needs filling. IMO

A dedicated, eneducated, and easily led person can hand deliver a nuclear bomb and make a 50 trillion dollar star wars defense system obsolete, and the hard work and knowledge of the scientists who designed it a mere waste of their time.

That is not an opinion either.

How can you condemn a person for sharing an opinion or theory with someone else to wiegh and consider if they want to join and investigate?

Not me.

Condemning someone else is not going to make my life or yours any better is it?

Perhaps you misunderstood me, I was not condemning your opinions. I am just a debate freak.

basically you are playing the role of prosecuter and i am playing defense attorney...the judge would be the audience..or even the jury if you will.

you fired a accusation I believe to be in error...what should I do? nod, and bow my head and walk/run away?

If I did...would you ever hire me to defend you?

the winner will win the jury over.......

Are you up for a challenge of this size...or were you just walking by and decided to throw a rock at someone thinking nobody would call you down for it?

That is why I state my opinions...hoping to find challenges to learn from, grow from, and overcome if possible.

I will either win or if you win I will learn something and be back on the right track.

So how can I really lose?

I have better things to do with my time too.

About all you can do for a suicidal person, creation, or child is try to save them, talk some sense into them, or give them some hope. There is nothing else I can see (I can't see into the future though) that would be in anyway worth spending my time on.

However...we do "build" demolition derby cars.

I sure hope God doesn't.

Tell ya this though...put a huge thirsty bully in my backyard staring at my well...see what I do.

I think the man is being driven by self-presavation. Just like our native Americans were.

there is something to be said for looking ahead and focusing on long term effects.

we didn't just ignore the bird flu, and hope it would just go away on it's own did we?

You see a threat coming..what are YOU going to do?

tell ya what..try googling Chief Dragging Canoe and Nancy Ward, and with the knowledge you now have of our present, and their future,and end results of their decisions..tell me if you think Chief Dragging Canoe was a insane, bloodthirsty savage, or "The Dragon" as the settlers refered to him as, and his cousin Nancy a high ranking, turncoat traitor?

If you want to play judge...try it having all the facts in front of you. it is really cool IMO.

If Adam and Eve knew exactly what was going to happen in the end result of their decision..why would they choose to do it? They would have to be suicidal or something if they jumped off a building KNOWING it was going to kill them.

If I knew the owner of my company was getting ready to fire me in a month...would I still be here...or would I be out trying to find another job?

I am really confused about this.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Kind of strange having a message of hope..when President Bush hold the means to destroy the earth, and the Iranian President is saying he wants to do it too.

Amist all the terror we create among ourselves...why would God bother killing a suicidal creation?

The President of Iran says he is going to do it soon....Who does he think he is? God?

I have not seen a scripture that supports that scenerio in the end.

he claims that god and jesus tell him what to do but also thinks he is satan.

david christopher is a bi polar mental case and anything he posts on here is nothing but a lot of bull. he has no clue what he is talking about and thinks he is going to save the world by talking to people on the internet. he claims that god and jesus tell him what to do but also thinks he is satan. he acts more like satan by the way he treats his family especially his two sons he has nothing to do with and they are both children under the age of five. he has made life for both of the boys mothers a living hell. he also has spent time in a mental hospital for his condition and refuses to get treatment for his illness. he is a danger to himself and to others. he once told a 14yr girl to stab him so he could suffer like christ did and also wants people to stone and whip him when he has been bad. now how crazy is that. whoever runs this website i would ban him because he is giving people false hope and info. he thinks that jehovah witness people are zombies and robots. please get rid of him and let him leave these people alone and let them worship and have beliefs the way they want to.
