Wednesday.... I feel so bad for you... I too lost my mother one month ago she wasn't really sick but only lasted a week in the hospital, however, unlike you I have 3 sisters' and between the 4 of us we were with her 24/7 for that week and supported each other constantly and still do! I just can't imagine the saddness of going through this alone, it still hasn't sank in for us yet and we didn't really get along all that well with her... BUT she was our mother and we did love her, but you do have the people here so let them be your brothers & sisters & friends to talk to.

Death in family/JW funeral
by wednesday inthis has been a most dreadful 2 weeks for me.
my mother, a faithful jw, finally died after a long illness.i had been by her side all the way., my brother& wife , the jw ,rarely made an apperance-but showed up at last minute to make sure he got her jewelry.
he rarely showed up because i am not active so not considered good association.also he had no close feelings for her.

I have never been a JW just joined this board to try and understand my two co-workers' who are. Therefore, I must tell you how I feel when I read you & your husband's accounts of that night! That I have read the words of true heroes, to do what you have done and walked out with both your heads held high on a way of life that you've always known.... that just shows the strengh & belief in your convictions of your organization 'Silent Lambs'.
So whatever your next venture in your life... from a person that doesn't understand the JW life but recognizes true valour GOOD LUCK!

Would you condone abortion?
by haujobbz intoday i questioned my mother about the fact that she told me ?
yrs ago how she lost 2 kids through a miscarriage but then later told me she aborted them, well i didnt know what to say, but then later questioned her about this i asked her why she did it, she told me that she was already bringing up me and my sister and financialy impossible to look after two more kids, well i didnt agree with that reason or any reason to kill the unborn she then said she wasnt in the truth then "huh what difference does that make".
then she gave an illustration of reasons when you should condone abortion and it goes like this, if you were raped and later found out you were pregnant what would you do she seemed to say she would abort it,i said i wouldnt if that happened to my wife i said i would probably end up having it adopted, after all its better than murder.. how has this affected my familys view on abortion i wonder, well i have 5 sisters and 1 more brother, and already my brother in cold blood made his girlfriend abort hers due to the inconvienience, and also my older sister had hers aborted 2 yrs ago because the father didnt want to know with out a hint of regret,so im now starting to see a pattern in my family, whos to blame them or my mother as a role model.. so to cut a long story short do you think killing an unborn child is murder, would you do it under certain scenarios.

This is a very personal decision, and takes a lot of thought on the women having it. However, legally it should never be made by lawmakers who don't have a womb! EVER.

I love Van, have most of his cd's! His mother was a dub for awhile when he was growing up! hmmmm... just found that out.
Anyways, depending on your feelings any mixed marriage is going to be rough... I think you're love for each other has to be so much stronger than normal marriages and man most of those are tough enough.
I know of a few cases around here where the wives are JW's and the hubby's are not and the marriages have lasted into the 25-30 anniversary marks. However, I don't know about the reverse, hubby JW wife not... since it is such a male dominant religion, as most are! might be harder especially when kids are involved. One case the wife gave up the JW's while the kids were raised and then after they left went back... the other case the kids are strong JW's.
So GOOD LUCK! and be strong and think very, very hard on your decision... but most of all be happy.

Disgusting JW Funeral story
by PopeOfEruke ini heard of a funeral held for a sister last week in a kh.. her non-jw daughter-in-law write a poem for her, and wanted to read it at the service in the kingdom hall.
the d-i-l had studied many years ago but was never baptized.
however, because she was wearing slacks, she was refused to read it from the platform and had to read it from her seat in the audience.. how low can you go?

Around our area the tables were turned on the local jw's. An elderly lady who had converted to jwism from Salvation Army which the rest of the family were, died. While she was in the hospital at the end the local cong of jw's tried to sneak in to see her as the fam was trying to keep them out! Anyways, she died and at the local funeral home where she was waked two of her many kids were always on duty at the door and turned away anyone who they thought were jw's! I asked a jw I knew how they could tell and she said because they were dressed better than anyone else that showed up... but the screams of persecution were loud and clear all around. They never think that what goes around comes around?

This Board and JWs
by comforter inat one time, this board seemed to be fair.
but i no longer think that it is, to jws, at least.
ex-jws here can cuss, insult, say fu to everybody they don't like, and call jws pedophiles.

USFlagChucking JW Appears On Today's PEOPLES COURT
by AngryXJW injust finished watching a people's court case which involved a female jw landlord, who was suing a former tenant (also female) for breaching an apartment lease by moving out prior to the exiration of the lease, damage to the apt, etc.
the jw won the case.. the ex-tenant attempted to defend the breach by relating that the jw landlord must have been repeatedly illegally entering her apartment when the tenant wasn't home, since she had been told by other tenants that the landlord had made comments (gossiped) about the tenant's furniture, lifestyle, etc..
biggie!!!
