Is it wrong to change your religion flyer
by boyzone ini typed a flyer on this subject the other day but not sure how to get it to the relevant people.
i could post it to elders but i know it'll be thrown as soon as opened.
i could pin it to the kh door but the hall servant will be the first to see it and throw it before anyone else gets there.

Special Post: 1 year anniversary on JWN - My intro finally posted
by Awakened at Gilead ini came on jwd a year ago tomorrow, having realized that jws were not the truth, quite painfully, on march 29, 2008. i was here within a week, and within 2 months i was officially dad by my congregation.. ever since joining, i have never actually wrote down a comprehensive look at why i left the organization.
what doubts caused me to leave?
why did a gilead grad leave what i once considered so precious?.

Thanks for sharing that. I found myself having the same experiences and it took me much longer (8 years) to get to the point you arrived at in only one year. I don't post very often but I do like to read the stories of others. I have read many of your post and would really like to meet you sometime.
Congratulations on one year and all you have accomplished

Are You Surprised That You Ever Believed "In The Truth"?
by minimus inknowing what you know now, are you embarrassed that you ever believed in the jehovah's witness religion?.

Not embarrassed but sometimes when I say outload (telling someone what the JW's believe) it just sounds silly to me now.

WT 15th April apostates / new light on miscarriages
by dozy instudy articles have strong counsel against apostates - modern day apostates display characteristics similar to those of the devil.
their mind may be poisoned by a critical attitude towards individuals in the congregations , christian elders or the governing body.
some apostates oppose the use of the divine name , jehovah.

I am afaid this "new light" on misscarages will be my down fall. My wife will eat this up as it is something close to our hearts. And the sad thing is they may chose to change it back at anytime. When will they stop playing these games.. Oh yeah never......

Has your " Self Esteem " Improved After Leaving Jehovah's Witnesses ?
by flipper init seems to be an issue that some have after leaving the witness cult because none of us were ever made to feel we were " good " enough or "valued " enough for what we were trying to accomplish in the cult.
growing up i had pounded into my head by my jw elder father what jesus said, " after doing all things remember you are good for nothing slaves , what we have done is what we ought to have done.
" then i thought to myself - " where's the joy in that ?

First I want to thank Flipper for this thread. This was a tough week and I really enjoyed reading everyones thoughts.
And second Caliber that post really helped me.
But thanks to all of you. I just don't feel like I fit in anywhere but its nice to have this place where people have similar experiences. It helps and I am glad you guys are here....

Thanks for all the concern and the ideas. I was raised as a JW and 3rd Gen at that. My job is really doing great and I could and in fact would love to go to school but time my job (I travel a lot) take makes it very difficult and I make fairly good money. My biggest concern is I don't feel any connection to anyone anymore except my brother.
It may just be the normal process but the only emotion I feel anymore is sadness over the loss of my friend's and my wife and I have had miscarriages which has created a distance in our relationship that I can't seem to fix. So now I just feel alone and with the exception of my brother (who also has left the JW's) all my family is wrapped up in something I can't believe in and of course my freind's no longer talk to me because I don't go to meeting's. I guess I should be glad for my brother he has been great. I just don't feel the full freedom that I hear a lot of you have because I still have to keep up some appearances for family. I am just whining. But it does feel better to vent a little.

I have spent the entire morning thinking about this (before I read this thread). I have been fading for about 4 years and I am so lost right now. I can't say I ever felt good enough as a witness but now I just feel nothing. The only thing I seem to be able to muster is sadness over things I have lost but I have found no identity. And I think my lack of self esteem is because I haven't moved on but with many family members still in I have to be careful. Regardless I look forward to reading other peoples experiences.
I don't think I could have made it without the help from people on this board. I don't post very often but I read all the time. I look forward to hearing how others have moved on. Hopefully I can find some suggestions. Thanks to you all!!!

How do you believe something is true - or reject it as a lie?
by BonaFide inwhen someone told me something new, or when i heard something new, how do you decide that it is true or not?
this was the way i decided to accept things or not for my entire life until a few months ago:.
1. does what i just heard support jehovah's organization?.

Interesting calculation for the start of the GT and Christ's return
by Philippus79 inhi friends!
i found this quite interesting blog which gives evidence that the gt is about to start in autumn 2008 and jesus would return in 2012. at least for those who are still interested in bible chronology and prophecy it might be worth a read.
these guys seem to have no connection to ron weinland or the cog people, looks more like jws/exjws.
