  Assistance needed on issue of birthdays

  i am currently reviewing various doctrines of the wt.. would it be possible for this thread to focus completely on the issue of birthdays and avoid other subjects & also any digs at the wt over their current policy.. personally, i believe that birthdays are acceptable but i need concrete reasons / facts to counteract the arguments provided by the wt for their refusal to celebrate birthdays.. thanks .

  "I am currently reviewing various doctrines of the WT." Why? This site is about Jehovah's Witnesses, so why review doctrines of the Watchtower Society, a printing company? And as to birthday celebrations, Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate them because Jesus did not direct and celebrate his, so if his birthday was not important enough to be commemorated then why would ours be? And why waste the time and money on that stuff?

  "Below is a draft of my elder resignation letter that is going out to the Service Department. " What a stupid thing to print. What does the governing body or the service dept. have to do with your lack of faith? Your lack of faith is from you and only you. The governing body only oversee the worldwide congregation, not the individual congregations or publishers.

  Why die over the Blood issue?

  why is the blood doctrine worth dying for to most jw's?.

  when faced with a life-threatening choice of blood or no blood, why don't they take the blood transfusion, then face the music and get disfellowshipped, act repentful and get reinstated in 6 months or 1 year?.

  if you commit fornication or adultery, the punishment is still the same.

So many people look to the past not the future. So many people point to and are stumbled by what people do. So many people here that are weeping and gnashing their teeth. If you only knew where to get real knowledge of Jehovah's Witnesses, which is never on a forum.

  "I dont think it was so much wanting to be a part of that organization, it was the fact that their children were now supposed to shun them. Hey since this is a Tennessee story, I wonder if my local paper picked it up today or yesterday? Bob (Honesty), did you see it in the Knoxville paper yet?" I would shun them too because the Andersons did evil things against Jesus' followers.
