there's not much that makes me wince, not at the movies anyway, but those things that have, have inevitably stayed in the memory.. i saw it a long time ago at the cinema, but the reservoir dogs scene where michael madsen cuts a policeman's ear off to the track stuck in the middle with you, was one such scene.
certainly couldn't watch it again.
Another thoroughly nasty scene was in the film Scum. If you've seen it you'll know which one I mean. Plenty of people walked out of the cinema at that point.
Then there's the beginning of American History X when the guy is biting the kerb.
Also the scene from Omen where he has his head sliced off by a sheet of glass is pretty memorable.

last summer, i noticed a rat living underneath my shed in the back garden.
i tried my hardest to convince my female counterpart that we had a rat living with us, but as usual was met with a wall of silence.
so time passed and i didn't see rodney the rat again, so i just figured that he had gone away some place else.
I'm pretty soft when it comes to the animal kingdom. Today when walking my dogs I saw a worm on the pavement trying to burrow into the concrete. Feeling pity I picked it up and put it onto some grass.
Rats however are an exception. I've had experience of them doing plenty of nasty things, including eat a hibernating tortoise alive. There's lots where my daughter keeps her horse and we sometimes put a hose on a petrol strimmer exhaust and put it down the holes. They come running out and the dogs finish them off. If we didn't do that from time to time there'd be thousands of them, all probably eating each other.
You should've put Roland Rat who you so heartlessly poisoned on the Russians' barbecue when they weren't looking.

i'm just gonna take a break.. got so many great things going on in my life, i need to focus.. i would have liked to have reached 3000 posts before this "pause" but whatever.
I reckon NeverGoingBack is going back. The Summer's coming and he wants to do barbecueing in a suit and tie.

I'd never seen the illustration with the kids wrestling with Pandas before, LOL bizzare. I never cease to be amazed at how I happily bought into the new wold lifestyle as represented by these images. Reminds me of Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, or maybe it's not a million miles away from another more famous fantasy world -

JWFacts - on the subject of pikuach nefesh I'm also intrigued as to why the blood issue was never one of the Commandments. In this context the sabbath observance was more important than the blood one, therefore there was even more reason to let saving of life supersede laws.

The Eurovision Song Contest is truly awful, but it's so bad I love it.
For the past several years we've had a Eurovision party: lots of tasty bites and sparkling wine being the format. We have a great laugh, mainly thanks to Sir Terry, but most of the acts are hilarious in themselves. It's odd that many Western European countries have opted out and there's so many Eastern European countries in it now. When they were behind the Iron Curtian they must have been gagging to get involved, LOL.
We'll never win it anymore, supposedly due to our foreign policies, but who cares? Who wants to be best turd in a turd competition?
