nothing new in the article , which has as the sole justification the need no longer to explain "theocratic" terms like "pioneer" , but it does seem that the awake will be tailored more to non-christian people.
"Active (vs. inactive?) apostate" is a rather interesting notion btw. Is it common in recent WT literature? It already appears once in 1985 (W 7/15), as an allusion to 2 John 9-11 ... What does it take to be an active apostate? Anti-WT activism? Occasional public or private criticism of the WT? Church membership?
I was thinking the same Narkissos. Maybe the active apostate returns to his own vomit and the inactive one doesn't.

i received this letter today from the local council which asked me to fill out a questionnaire regarding the color of my skin etc.
the letter said that "in order for us to offer the greatest service possible to all people, regardless of (insert bullshit here), please fill out this form".
but my question is this: if they are planning on treating everybody the same, why should it matter?
Needproof that's a favourite of the NHS in their forms. I suppose in their case it allows them to consider cultural and religous issues when providing care, but I'm not sure what the council would want it for. Slightly changing the subject the locals in my pub were all moaning about a job advert in the local paper which was in Polish only. No one actually knew if it was legal but it's an ideal way to whip up resentment.

show ghost hunters 7 hours long shown live and on the internet with web cams planted all over the place from east pennslyvania pentitentiary on friday evening from 8pm to 3am, there were many responses from all over the country about people seeing images, ghosts etc.
for those who watched it, was this real or is it a great hoax.. i read that when it comes with dealing with hard evidence of life after death it's been shown that there are three classes of people.. there are those that ridicule idea of anything beyond the grave.. then there are those who have already accepted the evidence of continued existence beyond physical death.. the third group is often thrown offtrack when trying to get at the truth by the folks in the metaphysical camp.. which group do you belong to and why?

I've had so many experiences throughout my life that I do accept the evidence favouring the hypothesis of intelligent forces able to influence material objects, and to convey associated meaningful messages, both visual and aural. If I hadn't I wouldn't believe it; it's as simple as that. I don't take anyones word for anything: the Watchtower taught me a lesson there.
I belong to a physical mediumship circle where we sit every Tuesday night and more often than not experience what is commonly known as 'paranormal phenomena'. It has taken serious patience to get where we are today.
I'm not keen on the TV coverage of the paranormal. Almost inevitably there's always the temptation to sensationalise and exaggerate, in fact I'd guess that quite talented mediums ad lib or fabricate in an effort to keep the show on the rails so to speak. I don't really take any of this type of TV coverage seriously.

The scriptural basis for not celebrating your birthdate as offered by the WTS is tenuous to say the least. Sticking to scripture I would say that the following is saying that it is ok to have celebration days and to not judge others.
Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and he will stand, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind. He who observes the day, observes it for the Lord, and he who eats, does so for the Lord, for he gives thanks to God; and he who eats not, for the Lord he does not eat, and gives thanks to God. - Romans 14:4-6
We don't need thought police. The Bible doesn't mention birthdays and yet the Society has dictated that they must not be celebrated. This was a new light issue during the days of Judge Rutherford, and birthdays are "bad" by association apparently.
What harm does it do to celebrate a birthday? Little kids are denied the excitement of a special day, old people are denied the chance to celebrate a long life.

i did a search of the publications - perhaps i used the wrong words, though i thought i used the correct combinations.
i can find plenty of condemnation of catholic church, but nothing that specifically condemns the catholic church for the pedophilia issues within.
i was sure that they had done so over the years - but was i just reading my jw taught judgementalism into articles that weren't specific?.
