Hey Nvr !
Ok - I'll get two packets of ciggies. It'll make me taste bad when the birds start chomping on me.
isn't tomorrow armageddon?
i think i'll sleep late just in case... an elder called my friends house and said that armageddon was almost certain to come this year; an urban myth stated that it would be tomorrow.
i guess i'll wait to make that car payment.

Brother Clam, you are supposed to go out and charge them to the limit, since you are not going to have to pay the money back.
LOL Brother Warlock. Good thinking.
I bet there were some nasty JW credit card bills by the end of 1975. Or maybe that was pre credit card days? Hope so.
right i need the help of someone who knows their bible.
ive been out of the truth too long and have forgotten the info im looking for.. .
i once did a school assignment on what was basically the parable of the prodigal son, only it wasnt that.
Hello Mr Hyde -
There is an Hasidic parable. A king had a son whom he loved very much. Unfortunately, as the son was growing up, the king began to see that he was heading on the wrong path. The son's behavior became more and more difficult, and the king realized that he could not keep him in the palace.
The king sent his son to a far off village to be raised in the home of peasants. There his officers and spies were able to keep an eye on him and see how he was doing. The king's son grew up in the village, but always maintained a memory of the palace where he was born.
One day the young man said, "I am the son of a king, and I must return to my father." He began the long and difficult journey. Soon messengers came to tell the king, your son is on your way home.
The king immediately broke into tears. He told his servants, "I know it is a difficult journey. Go load up my carriage right away. I will travel and meet my son half way."

I was going to pay my credit card bill today, but hey - I'll wait another few days just in case. No point in wasting money.
hi folks .
i'm sure this subject has been discussed over and over again but i've still managed to miss it.
what is the current ruling on jws attending church services?
R.F. Thanks for that. Very interesting.
Some revoltingly sanctimonious stuff. I particularly liked . . .
The church funeral is really a religious service. It therefore is likely to involve a sermon advocating such unscriptural ideas as the immortality of the soul and that all good people go to heaven.

It makes sense but I just don't recall seeing anything about it written down.

Hi Folks
I'm sure this subject has been discussed over and over again but I've still managed to miss it.
What is the current ruling on JWs attending church services?
On Friday last I attended the funeral of my brother-in-law who had died very unexpectedly. I'd taken charge of the arrangements to take the pressure off my sister and had chosen a beautifil little 13th Century church in an amazing country setting. The whole day went very well as we were determined to make it a 'celebration of life' and not be morbid.
Anyway my other sister and her hubby, both JWs and their children all rocked up and sat in the back of the church. Some time ago when my non JW sister had gotten married, they had stood outside of the church and refused to go in. When I asked my niece about it, who is DA'd, she said it was only ok to go into "False Religion" centres when it's the funeral of a loved one. Is that right?
Bizzarely my JW Bro-in-Law asked me the following day about the church and spoke about how amazing it was. I told him there was a book available which was a history and the church and that I'd arrange for him to be a sent a copy. He was most pleased. Things never cease to amaze me.

My understanding was that it was 7th July (07-07-07) Heavenly Fulfillment and all that.
I can't see it being tomorrow as Babylon the Great hasn't fallen yet, but you never know.

with the recent tv.
show ghost hunters 7 hours long shown live and on the internet with web cams planted all over the place from east pennslyvania pentitentiary on friday evening from 8pm to 3am, there were many responses from all over the country about people seeing images, ghosts etc.
for those who watched it, was this real or is it a great hoax.. i read that when it comes with dealing with hard evidence of life after death it's been shown that there are three classes of people.. there are those that ridicule idea of anything beyond the grave.. then there are those who have already accepted the evidence of continued existence beyond physical death.. the third group is often thrown offtrack when trying to get at the truth by the folks in the metaphysical camp.. which group do you belong to and why?
I'm getting deja vu. Is that normal or paranormal?

the question box in july deals with the internet - mainly concerned with children on myspace & similar sites -mentioning that your child could be talking to paedophiles , dfd ones or even "active apostates" .
the main article deals with the - "exciting" and "thrilling" news of the new wt arrangement (maybe some people should get out more).
nothing new in the article , which has as the sole justification the need no longer to explain "theocratic" terms like "pioneer" , but it does seem that the awake will be tailored more to non-christian people.
If they havethe truththen whatever we say wouldn't matter yet they want to control what we say on the internet
Icy yep, the truth doesn't need protection but lies need constant propping up.
By the way well said WTWizard. They live in a big glass house but just can't help throwing stones.
