Definately. In fact that was how the witnesses first got me interested by saying where do all those stars come from. It really is the big question, where did God come from. But if you think about it, other questions you could ask would be when did time begin or if you kept going straight up into space where does it end? I believe our minds simply can't comprehend those questions at the moment. Maybe in time they will be answered.

Creation - struggling
by wantstoleave ini am in the process of leaving, and those of you who have followed me will know i spoke to my family briefly the other day about my doubts, but not since.
my dad has offered the occasional prayer for various things in the past week, as well as say he wants to study with my preschoolers.
he has also added in the extra tidbits to do with jehovah being the only true god etc.

Trying To Make JW's Seem "Normal", One Cult Member At a Time
by AllTimeJeff init hasn't been till the last couple of months that i have even given a passing thought to jw apologists.
as welcome as they are to post their opinions, i am struck by something that i recognize in myself and others as i reflect on my jw past.. basically, there comes a certain point, where if you are going to stay a jw and you are of a bit more "liberal" mindset, that you will try to change the focus a bit.. i recall this happened to me.
as a ms, i was very gung ho for most jw dogma and ways of dealing with people.

I belong to Friends United and joined the JW group. One elder is leaving it for fear of being spiritually damaged. I aked him why he could not defend his faith. He never answered. Witnesses and particularly the society are scared to death of exwitnesses because they know what really goes on behind the scenes not to mention the societies countless mistakes and double standards. I wish more witnesses would try to defend themselves but most of them simply run like scared rabbits.

Witness friend you shunned me as Apostate just got Cancer!
by Witness 007 in.........and i feel real bad for him.
i was looking on the net for natural cures and such....so much for the "evil apostates.
" he told my family he "hated when i spoke against the faithful slave.

Witness 007, your concern for him is so commendable cosidering the totally unchristian way he treated you. Time after time we are reminded of the totally conditional love that we get from a witness. As soon as they realize you don't agree with everything you are told from the org. they end the friendship overnight. You have shown by your attitude that it is you the 'apostate' that has the real love and kindness in your heart.

Its not the people on here or wherever
by angel eyes ini was talking to a baptised friend, and they dont like the idea of me being on here..i told them that ive mentioned it to an elder and that a few know im here, afterall im heeding the warning .
anyway, i explained to them that we are drawn out by our own desire, its whatever is in our heart....... hmmm did that come across ok???
so what im saying is yes negative thoughts or comments whatever we are warned against can harm us but its up to us what we listen to and if our heart is right we shall remain in gods love.

Hi angel eyes, good attitude. Yor're right many on here are ex witnesses. And many of us were not kicked out we simply left because we did no longer think it was the truth. Unfortunately many witnesses faith is so shallow they are not able to have a disscusion with anybody that used to be a witness. So good for you. You will find out many things that the average witness does not know about, and yes you will be able to check it out yourself to see if it is true or not.

Help - am I on the fence??
by wantstoleave inplease bear with me, newbie here :).
i have had doubts for a few years now.
i was raised in the truth, baptised at 16, married at 24...the usual stuff.

wantsotoleave, the one thing you can do when you spend less time with the org is to check it out properly yourself. You call it the truth. When you do your own research on the org you will find it is anything but the truth. Many on this site simply left because they could no longer live a lie. The whole idea that a loving creator is about to slaughter over 6,000,000,000 people because of one man's mistake is frankly stupid. It can be hard to make that decision to leave but so worth it. You will find a whole new life opens up to you. Good luck

The WTS and it's members inability to face it's past/history, funny?
by jookbeard ina recent little debate with a couple of recent posters on here i was accused of constantly referring to the past / history of the wts, even to the extent of it being of little importance to them because of the advancement that the wts has made up until this present day , and that they made mistakes, so did the apostles, and we humbly admitted these mistake's etc, the thing is i love studying the history of the wts, it's failed prophecies/blatant lies/flip flop in doctrine, the outright crazy claims, the organ transplant ban, the persecution of their own brothers in malawi, there help for their brothers in mexico, yet at virtually the same time condemning those brothers to murder/rape/kidnap/false imprisonment etc, so folks, you will be seeing a lot more examples of wts history, i'll keep it coming, because the final conclusion will be that the wts is not the channel that jerkhobah uses on earth, and it truly is an apostate!.

Jb Your right it would be hilarious if it didn't mess so many families up. Quite often when I talk to my witness son about the WTs past I can't help but laugh at all the things I am able to tell him because of things I have learned about them, things that he hasn't a clue about. So I am all for anyone exposing them for what they are, namely false prophets and family destroyers.

If the WTS is not a False Prophet, what is it? surely the Bible identifies them as Apostates
by jookbeard inthrough out the wts history it has claimed to be the only channel that god has selected to be his mouthpiece on earth, it calls itself ; the greater david, the jonnadab class, the faithful and discreet slave, the elijah class, the fulfillers of trumpet blasts in revelation, so on and so forth.
yet from it's inception by ct russel it promoted a unique brand of biblical beliefs that were meant to be accepted as bible truth, 1799 1874/1914, miracle wheat, the pleiades star constellation, the occult content found in the studies in the scriptures/divine plan of the ages etc, would jesus himself have selected a religious group who were promoting such beliefs?
impossible, also russel was embroiled in a serious sex scandal that was never satisfactorily answered.. the reign of joe rutherford whose first proclamation was to announce that he had served as a district judge, which was shown to be a lie, he went on to build beth sharim a luxurious house in expectation of the resurrection to earth of the faithful worthies , a failed prophecy that surprisingly failed to come true.

Yes a very good round up of Some of the societies false prophesies. There are many, many more but this certainly makes the point. One might reasonably ask then how is it possable for so many to follow them.
It can only be indoctrination. If all the above were to appear in another religeon the witnesses would be on them like a ton of bricks. Therefor it is not because witnesses are stupid people they have simply been taken in by a large powerful organisation.

Question for Faders.....
by lepermessiah indid you all start getting the "full court press" from "friends" to start doing more things socially as you began your fade?.
i havent been invited to do a whole lot the last few months, but now all of a sudden i am getting phone calls and invites to do things.
fortunately, it hasnt been - "hey lets go out in field service" or anything like that since i would tell them to take a hike (which at this point means make myself busy at work or otherwise) .

I to have faded and for a long time I didn't contact my best friend in the org, then my witness son got married. He invited my best witness friend and his wife. Straight away my friend started asking why I left, so I told him. We had a really good chat and he said we must keep in touch and I gave him my email address ( he couldn't remember his). I said great and if you don't want to talk about the org that is fine. I have waited and waited but nothing. I am afraid once you tell a witness you disagree with the gov. body that is it. It doesn't matter how close you were you are now a leper to them.

JWs (my wife´s ....) reasoning:
by Albert Einstein inyesterday we had a serious conversation with my wife.
i repeatedly explained her, that never ever i will go in field service as jw, becouase based on facts, i realized, that many of the jw teachings are not true.
i showed her several logical examples as 1914, 607, 1919 as jw being chosen as the only true by jc, blood issue and some others.. wife: its minor issues.... me: it is not, since for not believing in these anybody could be df and thus sentenced to death.

White Dove, you don't give up on people you really love. Most of us know what it can do to families and they are not good things

Yes I have had more or less the same conversation with my 31 year old son. Like you I give very sensable answers and just like your wife he quickly moves on to something else. You could show 20 times the error of there ways but if there is one small thing where you may not have all the facts they will pounce on that. In their eyes that makes everything you say as wrong. I once said to him the date the internet was invented about two years before it actually was ( a simple mistake), but that apparantly now means that everything else I say is wrong. I do feel for you.
