i think we should not make statements about what the watchtower society is secretly doing if we can not substantiate the statements.. we do not know if a "bethelite" is doing whatever he claims to be doing clandestinely.
when we make threads or statements about things we have absolutely no proof of, we are making ourselves look bad.. when impressionable people read these things, it sets our efforts back immensely.. please think about what you're doing.

Totally agree Minmus. I regularly post on JW forums and find it is essential to be able to back up what I say.
Even when you show a scan of a gov body letter the dubs try and say it is a forgery. I find it very helpful to have the Watchtower cd rom as you can show exactly what the society say about something, and they can accept that a lot easier (even though they don't like it.
i don't post often, but i lurk a lot.
i have fonund the information to be helpful and encouraging.. however, i'm not sure how much longer i can take being married to the jw's.. i have a wonderful husband, but he believes everything this cult tells him.
most recently he has decided that because the end is near we don't have to worry about our bills.

I do really feel for you. It is hard when one is in and the othew out. I was wondering whether you both need to work to stay solvent. If you don't, then as the bread winner you are in the best position to see where the money goes.
There are many articles the Watchtower have written over the years telling the witnesses the end is near and they should pioneer or not marry or not have children.
Many of those who took that advice have suffered very much and certainly the ons who got into debt because they believed the societies lies.
If you both need to work, why don't you pay the bills and then your husband would have to pay for other essentials.
I was lucky. Although I was married to a witness, I was the bread winner so decided what the money should go.
I really hope you can sort this out, you really need to be strong, because you must remember that your husband is a victim in all this. He simply has not seen that he is in a cult. Hopefully he soon will come to his senses.

i don't get how you are disassociated if you take blood, if you are unrepentant according to the elders manual on pg 111. now do they have this same elders manual in bulgaria?.
also if you join a nonnuetral organization you dissasociate yourself automatically.
so i wonder if some poor janitor brother with his own business became an ngo with the un if he would have been cast out!
Especially since the baptism changed question in 1985 where you have to agree to act inaccord with the organisation.
Clearly if you take blood you have stopped of your own accord being one of Jehovah's Witnesses. From there point of view it was a clever move as it was the person themself that showed they did not want to be part of the org.

my parents made us tell people tha we got gifts throughout the year and that we probably got more presents than kids get on birthdays and christmas.
however, it was a complete lie.
Strangely this was one thing I liked about the witnesses. I still am very against giving cards and presents because it is' that time of year.
So many only send cards because someone will or has sent them one.
To this day I do not like xmas and the commersialism etc.
I believe in spontanious giving, but not giving because it is the done thing at this time of year.
have you been offered assistance by family members and they had a clause in that assistance?
my husband lost his job and we were offered help by his father (who was once an elder but has been reaching out for years).
my husband is not a witness, although he was raised in it.
I would say go the family study and make comments that woulnn't go down well.
Maybe like when they talk about the last days, tell them how things have been much worse in the past. If they talk of the big A as being very near remind them how often the society have been wrong in the past.
Basically bring doubt into the study they will soon get fed up up with it and you can get back to doing what you want to do.
You could have the same fun at the meetings.

at the last convention i couldn't help but wonder what a "worldly" person would think of the drama.
it was all about a witness youth gone astray.
the worldy girls were of course hard drinking sluts who left him at the first sign of trouble as did the evil materialistic friend.
From there point of view and not to mince matters, they believe that very soon, their god Jehovah will destroy all those who are not JWs. So these ones are ruled by Satan. That is what is at the back of their mind all the time.
