  Watchtower encourages children to shun DF parents.

  hey guys just wondering if anyone can recall a recent watchtower ( maybe a year ago ) that had an article aimed at minor children on dealing with a disfellowshipped parent.

  ive had a dive thru jw.org but coudnt find it before i wanted to vomit.

  can anyone help recall what issue it was.

  please let me rant then i'll go back and read my spider-man comics.. why do those that promote end of time prophecy have to make it all current?.

  i guess if we were told at the book of revelation for eg, (whatever chapter and verse), is for 3,000 years time i'd be surprised......and there's no money in it.

  believers would be discouraged methinks.. it seems to me that all this apocalypse now stuff is just to give our turgid lives excitement.

  Totally agree. I get so pissed off when every generation of so called christians look round the world and say how terrible conditions are and that it shows we are in the last days. Guys we have never had it so good. Of course there are still problems that need sorting out but generally many, many people are far better off than they were a generation ago. End of my rant as well

  if i remember correctly there were more than 100 million books distributed around the world in the the 1960`s.. and if i remember correctly it was listed amongst the ten most distributed/published books by the guiness book of records .. and if i`m not mistaken "paradise lost to paradise regained" was also on this list.

  and even in one year about that time their were no less than four of the societys publications on the 10 most distributed books ever.

  at that time.. how much of what was printed in those publications then, is relevant to what is beleived today.

  The whole reason the book came out was because there was no time any more to go through bigger books. It was small and concise, and witnesses were told to stop studying with anyone who had not made any significant progress after 6 months. Much of the book dealt with the 'proofs' that we were living at the very end of the last days. So did the book proove true? No it was totally false. So much so that the society had to change the wording of some quotes, because they too proved to be false. A complete work of fiction.

  a trusted source informs me that the "new light" about the faithful slave is to make its first printed appearance in the july 15th watchtower, which should be available for download online three weeks from now, on around april 15th.. i'm led to believe that the references to the new understanding are made in such a manner as to suggest the "new light" isn't that new at all, which suggests to me that little or no effort is being made to explain the doctrinal connotations.

  my source and i are hoping to get a key paragraph posted at the earliest opportunity.

  I do think we all have to remember the latest revelations that Cedars will tell us about, are simply that. They are the latest attempt to try and make sense of what is happening in the world and in the organisation. The society regularly changes things as it becomes obvious that what they have said before has now proved to be absolute rubbish.

  Whatever the society say will be digested by the sheep and accepted. It does not really matter whet the governing body say. As long as witnesses feel the GB is the channel God is using, they will accept all that is said. And even if they do not believe all of it, they will simply 'wait on Jehovah' to sort it out.

  Most of us I am sure never believed everything we were told, but just put it to one side, with the hope that things would become clearer in the coming days and months.

  So I do not believe that any new revelations will make much difference to the society in the long run. Just like every time before, there will be a little hic up then everything continues as normal.

  The main difference will come as more and more people worldwide get access to the internet where they can read what the society would never tell them. That is the way that increase will start to become decrease. But in my view not by any 'new light' changes.

  I seem to remember from the original posting about this that the FADS made their appearance after Charles Russell had died. So without saying so, they are saying that anything that Russell said was his own speculation, which is why he got so much wrong. It is meant to show witnesses that the holy spirit only began flowing on the governing body after Russell's death. There has been so much exposing Russell on the internet they had to find something to cover themselves. This new light has done that.
