  I have often seen JW`s supposed beleif of 1925 as the end .....It`s not what I remember

  i could be wrong of course , but as far as i recall 1925 was not the date of armageddon , but was the date the" princes of the earth" would be resurrected .

  the princes of course were faithfull men of old such as abraham issac and jacob, anybody who had a prominent part in gods favour.. witnesses at assemblies after 1925 were constantly awaiting to welcome the resurrected princes of the earth up until the late 1950`s.

  these faithfull resurrected men were to lead the rank and file into the glorious new system of christs thousand year reign.. smiddy.

  I think most JWs know what a generation is when they are not speaking about Watchtower doctrine. Then something happens to their brain as soon as the generation teaching is brought up.

  I would like to thank Dave for doing this chart. It takes a lot of time to produce something like that. Not sure why there is a mention of baptised-disfellowshipped. The chart simply deals with increase or decrease in publishers., in other words the net result or if you like the bottom line.

  Besty I dont think Britain will be at all pleased with 0.5% increase. It shows they cant even keep their kids in the org. Millions of hours spent knocking on doors and that is the result. It is only slightly higher than the population increase.

  i thought i'd share the 2014 yearbook stats.

  i converted the file to excel format & sorted the increase in publisher's column from largest to smallest.

  as i suspected, the growth is limited to a very few # of "lands.

  so i'm listening to a talk this week and the speaker was pretty delusional and shouted a lot!

  the talk was the usual mumble jumble but then he said something that did not make any sense at all.

  he said that after armageddon in the new paradise earth, the witnesses will still be warning people about the end of the new system of things.

  384 Priests Defrocked Over Abuse in 2 Years

  the above is title taken directly from the nytimes.com and below is just a snippet of the article.. i specifically recall when my mother used to do the dial-in when she was sick, i heard a brother mention in the wt study make a comment about the catholic church and all the child molestations going on (knowing damn well that the same thing was going on in the borg) all i have to say is at least they're making an effort to get rid of the problem by getting rid of the offenders, instead of telling them to "study more" or go out the in preaching service to rid themselves of the problem.

  "the vatican defrocked 260 priests for the sexual abuse of children in 2011 and 124 more in 2012 after the scandal exploded in europe and beyond and bishops forwarded hundreds of cases to the vatican, according to statistics compiled by the associated press.. the numbers were confirmed by the vatican on friday, and were based on statistics published in its annual reference books.

  two vatican officials had the statistics in hand but never cited them when they defended the churchs handling of sexual abuse cases before a united nations panel in geneva on thursday.

  "Later they heard the voice of Jehovah God as he was walking in the garden about the breezy part of the day.

  Now to me reading that, it looks like the writer of Genesis is saying God was walking in the garden. Is it just me or does it look like that to others too?

  this was done at his request.

  another way he can control me i guess.

  My son is a JW and I would love him to talk about the religion but he never does now because I always end up making good points to him that he can't answer. There are many points that a JW has no answer for, so maybe just drop them in now and again. Some topics you just go round and round in circles like the trinity, immortality etc, but some things they just cannot deny.

  And they say they do not break up families lol. It must be horrible for you. But maybe you and your hubby can work round it by just avoiding religious topics. I really hope so for your sake.
